Review titled No help
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2024
My husband attended at 8am this morning with a black upper eyelid which he noticed when he woke up Thursday morning. A mystery. I encouraged him to go to walk in. His treatment? Stereotyping and patronising attitude from triage nurse & doctor she brought to him. She suggested he'd been drinking/in a fight. Doctor suggested same and maybe he had forgotton (due to drinking) or indeed been assaulted at home. My husband rarely has a drink and does not fight. He works long hours. We are so disappointed and let down by these 2 staff members at Teddington Walk-In. Have always had brilliant service but this is a shocking experience. My husband has been left annoyed and worried about his eye. No help, just prejudice for a 68 yr old Irish man. Shame on you both.

Sat there with my child who eventually needed stitches , turned away after waiting for 25 mins and more, The staff was so rude , didn’t even bother to look at the child, shameful.

Excellent friendly staff on reception, nursing and in X-ray. Amazing snack shop and free parking. Made my trip on crutches much easier. In and out within an hour. Will avoid A&E and go here when possible in the future!

Review titled Very effective Nursing
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Arrived with a long-standing leg wound on 07.08.24. Once again I received prompt, polite and professional treatment. On this occasion I was seen by a nurse whose assessment put my situation into context and suggested a new treatment path. She gave me clear advice as to steps I could take and was so concerned that she phoned me shortly after I left to say that she had made an appointment with my GP for 2pm the following day. Awesome. A credit to the unit, her profession and the NHS. I am sure that my late mother, a nursing sister, would be pleased at her work. Thank you NHS.

I recently attended this hospital where I was greeted by a young man who took my details. He was courteous and professional. I waited a short period to see a charming doctor who calmed my worries and dealt with me in a kind professional manner. Excellent service all round.

Review titled Exemplary urgent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Thomas - Posted on 06 July 2024
As a visitor to the UK, I did not know procedures nor what to expect. My experience at the Teddington walk-in centre impressed in many ways. The triage system was efficient, and the paperwork minimal. While the facility was understaffed, every staff member was thoughful and not showing any of the inevitable stress. The clinic was full of people with a wide range of urgent medical needs. The natural efficiency of the operation helped. My situation required a relatively straighforward diagnosis and a prompt medication prescription to treat. I was seen by the physician within an hour of first arrival and was out the door shortly thereafter. I was able to continue my holiday without feeling so sick. My sincere thanks to the volunteer, the reception staff, the triage nurse and the physician who were are fantastic.

I went to the walk in centre on a Sunday morning and found the staff to be patience, friendly, caring, and very efficient. I was seen promptly by a clinician who was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything clearly; all in less than an hour. Thank you, you are all a credit the profession.

Review titled Referred to Hospital, phoned 5 times, no one will call me back!
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 May 2024
I went to my GP and they sent a referral through the app stating: "You need to choose your clinic." The app said call the number for Teddington Hospital. I phoned on 22 April, I was told someone would phone me back. No one called me, so I phoned again the next week. I have phoned 5 times! Still no answer! I cannot believe that no one can phone me to say there is a wait list or whatever reason for not making contact, but no one has phoned me so I guess I will not get the treatment. The last phone call I had with an individual I was in tears and they said in a rude tone: "if it is that bad go to the hospital." I do not have private health insurance, so I went to a private hospital and I had to pay over £1,500 out of pocket so far. So, no, I would not recommend this hospital because they cannot be bothered to call patients back!!!!!

Review titled amazing life-saving
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Phil Penman - Posted on 07 May 2024
I arrived at reception and described my symptoms. The receptionist was great. Despite a very crowded waiting room I was called within 2 minutes, and literally 5 minutes later Advanced Nursing Practitioner (I'm not allowed to say her name here) saved my life. I was having a heart attack and when I suddenly lost consciousness, nurse E did everything right. My life was saved, paramedics, nurses and an ambulance were swiftly on hand. I've visited Teddington Memorial Hospital on a number of occasions over the last three decades. The experience has always been good, but this week it was beyond exceptional. Thank you E. Thank you Teddington Memorial Hospital. Thank you National Health Service
