  1. Review titled Brilliant Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carol Kennedy - Posted on 22 June 2024

I recently had 2 appointments for an Endoscopy. The treatment I received was excellent. All the staff both times were very friendly and respectful, I couldn't have wished for more. Utmost respect goes to all of them.

  2. Review titled Deliberately Slow

Rated 1 star out of 5

by James Barker - Posted on 04 June 2024

I have been sat in Children’s A&E with my daughter for 7 hours and I have been closely monitoring the team on duty. I am extremely aware that there is a chance I might not know what’s going on behind the scenes, but ……. I literally witnessed a doctor taking a 20 to 40 minute break between patients at reception. Gossiping with colleagues. She seemed to wait for drugs to arrive, to completely finish with one patient before moving on to the next patient, whilst taking another opportunity to natter. If I thought she was typing up notes or doing some clerical work between patients, I wouldn’t have any reason to comment. But really ….. absolutely no sense of urgency, no ability to multitask. Other doctors, we’re seeing 2 or 3 patients, whilst waiting for the next step and still being present to see them depart. I am very happy to share the name of this doctor. I love the NHS and I am always grateful on the few times in my life I have needed medical professionals. But I have never witnessed blatant laziness and a seemingly lack of empathy for the tired, sick children in her department.

  3. Review titled Exemplary care throughout my stay

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by James Walker - Posted on 18 June 2024

I had to go to A & E because my oxygen levels had got dangerously low due to a chest infection. I was rapidly dealt with and put on oxygen then intravenous antibiotics and was regularly monitored until they could get me to a ward (Neptune) for full treatment. My pneumonia was so severe that I needed to stay in hospital for 9 days. The is the first time I have ever stayed in hospital. It was a real eye opener as I could witness first hand the high standard of care and dedication of all staff at all levels. I really do appreciate the staff at the hospital in getting me back to health again. Thank you!

  4. Review titled Lack of care

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 June 2024

My husband had a kidney stent inserted around three months ago. He was told he would be called back within four to six weeks, the implication being that the stent would be removed. Oh no. Five weeks later, he attended for a pre-op assessment. When he asked when the op was likely to be, he was told the assessment was valid for six months. I have no idea how that works. He was and continues to be in a deal of pain and discomfort, cannot be far from a toilet and urinates blood. He is unable to do anything or go anywhere. He also experienced two infections. I complained to our MP and our GP requested that the op be expedited. Four weeks ago, he was told the op would be on 4 July. Yesterday he was told that this was cancelled because no consultant would be available. No replacement date was forthcoming. No one has followed-up on his condition after the first op; he has been left hanging. He has been living on Co codamel from the GP - literally hundreds of them. I hate criticising the NHS, but patients cannot be left in limbo in this way.

  5. Review titled Lots of Support

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 March 2024

Attended Women's Health for a biopsy procedure. I was terrified to say the least! However, in spite of the procedure having to be abandoned due to a physical issue, I was supported all the way through and treated with the utmost kindness and compassion. They really went out of their way to support me through what might have been a horrible experience and this has given me the confidence to return for other issues.

  6. Review titled Impossible to get through on the phone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sam - Posted on 23 April 2024

I have had complications since my surgery (I’m sure it happens). The issue is that is literally impossible to get through to their phone line. I have tried several different numbers and no answer on any. I’d have better luck inventing cold fusion with a random number generator.

  7. Review titled Clean, Helpful and Compassionate

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Mr.Thomas - Posted on 30 January 2024

Recommended to visit the Urgent Treatment Centre after a call to 111, we were quickly met by the "navigator" who helped ensure we were in the right spot and gave us information about wait times. Despite it being very busy, the centre was incredibly clean and well staffed. As the wait would be very long they were very helpful in allaying any fears and arranged an appointment for first thing the next morning. We arrived early the next morning and were seen instantly. The care was fantastic and the speed of service was amazing. The centre itself is well looked after and the positivity the staff bring spreads to those coming in looking for help. It's an incredibly tough job and environment to work in but all credit must go to the hospital staff.

  8. Review titled Wonderful service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary Wiggins - Posted on 04 November 2023

I have been visiting GWH ENT since June 2021 and have only praise for the entire department. The receptionists are polite, helpful and friendly. I met several audiologists and, without fail, I found them to be kind, patient and considerate. They are always happy to explain everything they are doing and why. At each appointment I have been fortunate to see a consultant ENT surgeon who is amazing at listening and took the time to address each of my concerns. He discussed options with me, was very open to my questions and I always left the appointment with a plan. My last appointment was also, by mutual agreement, my final appointment which is why I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone in the ENT department.

  9. Review titled Day assessment unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 October 2023

I visited the day assessment unit for maternity services and the midwife was amazing. While monitoring my babies movements I was feeling light headed. The midwife got me a cup of tea and a lovely shortbread biscuit. I then later got a scan and two vaccines. Everyone who treated me were well informed and so friendly. It could’ve been a stressful experience but their attitude reassured and relaxed me
