I had an operation yesterday and this was my third visit to The Park Hospital. I arrived at reception and was greeted by a lovely group of reception staff. One of them booked me in and was walking me up to my room to be admitted. When we arrived on the ward there were 4 members of staff standing behind the desk looking at my notes and trying to pronounce my name and then laughing about it. It was repeated 3 times and even my mother overheard it. I was already feeling anxious about my surgery and this left me feeling really deflated and upset. There was just no need and my name is very easy to pronounce if you are literate. Apart from the 4 members of staff laughing about my name all the other members of the team were lovely and very accommodating. A sad experience on my part as it did ruin my day. I would like an apology as nobody should have to go through that especially with patients walking around and being able to hear conversations that are about them.

I had a total hip replacement in November and have just completed the final physio session. The whole experience from meeting and discussing my issues and addressing my concerns with the Consultant, through to the operation, the excellent care from the nursing staff, and the porters too, all contributed to making my stay a fantastic experience as well as a comfortable one. The post operative care was also second to none, and I now know the physio sessions are just as important as the operation itself, and helped enormously in my return to normality. Thank you and well done to the whole team, including the reception staff who are a credit to the hospital.

For the second time in a year my Hip Replacement Surgery has been cancelled, should have been carried out in September 2021, but was cancelled days before. Rescheduled in June for 18th July, cancelled again yesterday, is it because I am a NHS Patient. Or does the Park only want no complication, straight forward operations.

I went to The Park hospital last month for a total hip replacement. What a wonderful experience I had. From walking into reception until being helped into my car on leaving, every single member of staff, from every single department doing every role were warm, friendly, courteous, professional and an absolute pleasure to meet. Going to hospital can be an anxious time but I would go there again without hesitation. You should all be very proud of your wonderful hospital, it must be a pleasure to work there because you all exude happiness and care. I am recovering fantastically well and can’t believe how well I am progressing every single day. I’ve had a 4 week check up with physio and they’re delighted with my progress.
