After advice from 111 doctor we were advised to attend the Emergency Department at York for a walk in appointment in the early hours on a Sunday. Obviously as a walk in you do not see what is going on in the majors side but I assume this was very busy. Despite this my son was treated in a professional and empathetic way and we felt fortunate to be dealt with in 4 hours despite the board saying over 6 hour wait. Thank you for your continued hard work despite al the pressures and the ongoing building work.

Having just spent2 weeks inside, out of the24 hour shift staff, I only found 3 members of staff who took pride in the way they dealt with patients. Nothing was too much and the tasks were carried out within a short period of time. The rest were pitiful. You had to either ask 2/3 times as the original person just didn’t take notice and the timescale could take a couple hours. In a 4 day period, 3 of my daily menus vanished and I was offered soup on one occasion to last me from tea till breakfast even though I am a type 1 diabetic. I don’t think it’s the shortness of staff, I just think they totally disorganised in the way they seem to work and it is not taken seriously
