Review titled The NHS in York hospital is fit and well

Having suffered a number of random nosebleeds, some of which were quite heavy, I decided to visit A&E as it was still early morning. All staff were very courteous and efficient and soon had my details and completed preliminary tests. I was directed to the ENT team who very quickly checked me out. They discovered the cause of the bleeds and explained the treatment. It was done very expertly! I was soon on my way with advice on what I should do when home. The whole process took just under two hours from entry to exit. The staff were exemplary in every respect and deserve high praise for the care of their patients. The NHS in York hospital is fit and well despite the pressures they have to endure. Thank you all.

Review titled I was very impressed by my visit

After seeing my GP who requested an X-ray on my pelvis. I was given an appointment three weeks later ( which I thought was brilliant) at York Hospital. I saw a very pleasant receptionist who checked me in. I had only just sat down when I was approached by another member of staff who guided me to changing rooms and then into the X-ray room. The X-rays were soon completed and I was leaving. The radiographer's manner was very pleasant and professional, and I was very impressed by my visit to York Hospital. I would just like to say thank you to all concerned.

Just a massive thank you to the Doctors and all staff involved with the eye department, who also stayed later than their shift, who helped me with metal in my eye. Also a thankyou to all the surgical team that also helped me get the metal out of my eye who went above and beyond. Also a massive thank you to the nurses and staff who looked after my wife when she broke down in tears while I was in theatre. Big Thanks again it means so much

We aren’t from the York area but after my 4 year old son had a biking accident, we attended this hospital. Nurses and doctors were all fantastic. Of special note, the healthcare assistant (didn’t catch his name) went above and beyond to cheer my son up and improve his overall experience, offering him treats and entertaining him. Absolutely amazing man!

always had great experience of york hospital, however eye clinic let me down on this occasion. reception process is a farce. initial receptionist took my details and told me to go wait in area b. I did this and sat for over an hour past my appointment time. I questioned another member of staff only to be told I also had to check in with someone in area b. Others had also been sat waiting unaware of this. Complete breakdown of a process. Lot of people wandering aimlessly around with files and clipboards. Eye clinic needs a good shake up with process and people.

What an amazing team from start to finish the department is so organized and runs so smoothly I can't speak highly enough my mum was quite anxious but was put at ease straight away the staff from reception to consultant were exceptional thank you once again.

I have been trying to ring during the last week at various times and all I get is that phone lines are busier than usual please ring back! I have even held on as instructed for emergency call! Not good enough

I had a minor procedure today in the Dermatology department at York Hospital; a department that I have visited relatively regularly over the past 6 years. The staff are always amazing, starting from the reception staff who are always welcoming and happy to help, to the clerks, HCA's, nurses and doctors. They are all incredibly patient focussed, caring, considerate and efficient. Thank you and keep doing what you are doing!
