  1. Review titled Unsympathetic Doctor - Childrens A&E

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 August 2022

I bought my teenage daughter into A&E at 0100hrs as she was having trouble breathing, with muscle cramps and was very panicked and clearly in distress. We were seen very quickly, which was fantastic, and it was quickly identified that she was suffering from a panic attack. That said, the on duty Dr's bed side manner was dismissive and appeared unconcerned, which didn't help my daughter to understand what was happening to her. We left feeling disappointed with this encounter. Thankfully this is our first experience of having to attend A&E for something of this nature.

Dear Parent Thank you for your email and I was very sorry to learn that your daughter had to be brought to the Emergency Department because she was suffering. I am very pleased to learn that fortunately she was seen very quickly and her condition diagnosed. I was however sorry to learn that you felt the Dr attending your daughter was dismissive and appeared unconcerned, for which I apologise. Please be assured that I will pass your feedback to the management team so that it can be shared amongst the team and used to enhance future patient experience. Once again I apologise for you and your daughter's experience but thank you for taking the time provide feedback. I do hope that she is no longer suffering and has made a full recovery. 3. Review titled Wonderful service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Grateful patient - Posted on 28 August 2022

Visited Accident and Emergency yesterday as my husband had ruptured his achilles. From the moment we arrived we were seen very promptly and treated well. All staff were helpful and extremely kind. Thank you so much for all your help and hard work. Only downside was the parking near A and E, most of the machines were out of order as was the parking machine near the main entrance which was working for some but not others. Had to press for assistance to pay.

Staff always appreciate receiving such kind words and praise for their efforts, so please be assured that I have passed your feedback to the management team so that it can be cascaded to all staff. I was sorry to learn that you experienced such difficulties when trying to pay for parking when leaving the hospital as the machines were out of order, for which I apologise. 4. Review titled Sadly disappointed

Rated 1 star out of 5

Dad came in with a bypassing catheter and haematuria. We thankfully put him in an incontinence pad to maintain his dignity as he was uncontrollably passing urine. The ambulance service were fantastic. He has mobility problems. He was discharged 13 hours later, after a failure by the transport department to locate his keys in the only bag he had on him, soiled in faeces because no-one had been able to help him to the loo and still covered in the blood he arrived at the hospital with the day before. Nobody had attempted to clean him up or even change the catheter bag, also soaked in blood. He had clean clothes in the same bag that had his house keys! On a positive note, he had nothing but thanks to the Doctor that saw him who also took the time to keep me updated about his plan for his future care. Thank you.

Dear Sir / Madam Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback regarding your dad's recent experience when attending Tunbridge Wells Hospital recently. I am very sorry to learn that unfortunately your dad was returned home soiled and unclean for which I apologise. I was also sorry that he was delayed due to the Patient Transport Service G4S, not being able to locate his keys. However I do thank you for your kind words regarding the Doctor that saw and treated him. Please be assured that I will pass your feedback to the Emergency Department management team so that it may be discussed and used as a 'learning tool' to enhance future patient care. I will also pass on your feedback to G4S. Should you wish for the matter to be investigated further and you provided with a response, then I would be grateful if you could contact PALS direct so that we can discuss further. Once again I do apologise for your Dad's experience but do hope that he has now made a full recovery. Thank you again for your time. 5. Review titled Huge wait times for children's a&e

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Vasant - Posted on 11 September 2022

We visited the children's A&E due to an urgent issue with a 8 year old. We were made to wait 4 hours into midnight before seeing a doc to resolve, and then had to leave without a solution, because the wait was just way too long for the kid to handle. Multiple other parents had same issue. Extremely understaffed. Why can't even kids get quick a&e treatment ?
