  2. Review titled ENT disappointing appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 July 2024

After 3 weeks with an ear infection and symptoms not going away or reacting to medicine given, I was referred to the ENT department. I explained that I had a feeling of fullness and ringing in left ear. The registrar could only say that my eardrum was happy and there was nothing they could for me. No reason given as to why I was experiencing these symptoms, I was upset during the appointment given how debilitating the symptoms are but after insisting no reason was given at all as to why or what cause the symptoms. Leaving me with no option but to go back to my GP waisting everybody’s time and money. So disappointed to leave the appointment feeling that I was not heard and leaving me to deal with my symptoms.

  3. Review titled Good experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by G. Bradbury - Posted on 04 August 2024

Visited Surgical Assessment Unit 31/7/24. Right from the start I was shown Kindness from the receptionist and all nhs staff. They were all professional, approachable and friendly. At all stages of my visit I was being informed. I left with suitable pain relief and a plan for future referral. My experience at Surgical Assessment Unit was a good one. Well done and thank you all.

  4. Review titled Poor patient experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I think the rule about only patients allowed in when having a surgery is not very thoughtful for the patient, when taking a family member for an operation whom was extremely anxious to be told she had to wait alone with no one to support her whilst she waits i think is a poor reflection of patient comfort or care I would understand if we where still in covid situation I feel for my family member sat there for hours with no time of when she will be having her op leaving her to worry and get anxious is poor care and inconsiderate to the patient who has to experience the process without have someone there to give them support shocking that this is their way off caring for patients when evening sedated and no one there for them when they wake discussed with this procedure of patient care

  5. Review titled Excellent service at the Surgical Assessment Unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paula - Posted on 19 June 2024

On Friday 14th June I had the opportunity to experience the care provided at the Surgical Assessment Unit, and I am genuinely impressed by the exceptional service I received. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the reception staff, who made the check-in process smooth and stress-free. The nursing team was fantastic. They were attentive, compassionate, and made sure I was comfortable. They handled everything with a smile and genuine care. The two surgeons that performed the procedure couldn't have made an unpleasant experience any more pleasant. They were kind and approachable, and took the time to explain things in a way that was easy to understand, and they were patient with me. Their expertise and dedication to patient care were evident in every interaction. The hospital environment itself was clean, well-organised, and calming. Despite being in a place that many associate with stress and worry, I felt at ease thanks to the positive atmosphere and the friendly faces around me. The follow-up care has also been excellent. I am grateful for the staff's kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern for my wellbeing which made a challenging time much easier to navigate. Thank you!!

  7. Review titled Good experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary Chamberlain - Posted on 26 May 2024

I unfortunately became very unwell on morning of 25th May with an extremely rapid pulse. I became very anxious & attended the Accident & Emergency Department. Reception was kind & courteous & within ten minutes I was seen by a very professional, reassuring & kind triage nurse. Very shortly I was taken through to the treatment area where a succession of nurses, doctors & a Consultant performed a myriad of tests with great professionalism & kindness. Everything was explained to me at every step of the way. Treatment was initiated & admission to the hospital averted. The department was spotlessly clean & comfortable & the whole experience was a positive one. My sincere thanks to all involved.

  8. Review titled No Visitors!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 May 2024

My partner is still in the hospital and he is going to be there for some time still. He has been told that no one is allowed to visit him unless he can get to a “visiting room.” He is in a lot of pain and huge discomfort, he can’t even get to the bathroom so the fact that he’s not seen me (his partner) or anyone in that matter makes it seem very unfair. To be somewhere you don’t really want to be, on your own, not even knowing what is going on because it’s all “don’t know” at the moment for 5 days and counting is not on. The fact that people who care are in the dark too, it’s not just about hearing how someone is, it’s about being able to see them too. I have never known a place where they don’t allow people to see their loved ones. Can’t fault the staff because they are doing all they can. It’s just the “decision” makers don’t seem to know what is going to happen. imo. No idea of when he will be able to go home either.

  9. Review titled Amazing staff!!!

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Kiara - Posted on 02 May 2024

I visited the Admissions Lounge for a planned surgery today and it was my first ever. I was so overwhelmed and upset but the response from the staff there was more than I could have asked for. The receptionist was quite honestly an angel as were they all! They made me feel so much better. The nurses and support workers as always were so caring and cheered me up through an extremely tough time especially when my surgery was cancelled last minute. They truly went above and beyond and have made me feel better about coming for my surgery next time. I just don't think I thanked them as much as I should've so I really hope this gets passed on to them somehow. Thank you all so much :)
