  4. Review titled Awful experience; children's A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 November 2023

Went with my daughter on a Monday evening, sent by GP with suspected appendicitis. 7 hour wait with no feedback as to what was happening. We nearly self-discharged but were made to feel guilty so didn't. The room temperature was 26 degrees (as seen on 2 wall thermostats) and the Nurse Station had a fan pointed at it as a result. No such luck for the patients. Surely that's not healthy? There were also two staff at the Nurses Station walking around coughing into their arms all the time. People were sitting on the floor (including kids), irate, crying and sleeping (including my daughter). There were plenty of staff but don't understand why the process took 7 hours. Awful experience. We have literally been to a hospital in a 'developing country' this year and had an experience which was better by multiples. Net result is a daughter now unwilling to report adverse health symptoms as a result of not wanting to go through this again. What on earth happened here?

  6. Review titled Out standing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by June Atkins - Posted on 01 November 2023

My husband and I attended an and e in 31st October. He had suspected urine infection related to previous brachytherapy and he has sub pubic catheter. I do not know the name of the doctor we saw at around 11.30 pm but cannot praise his caring, professional and thoroughness too highly. We think he was outstanding He even rang as after we left an and e with further helpful advice that he had researched for us from uroligy. Despite the enormous pressure of work from an an and e absolutely full he made us feel that we were important to him and we in no sense felt rushed. Thank you

Admitted to Pembury hospital for emergency hernia repair surgery and honestly can't begin to explain how impressed I was with the fantastic care I received from all staff. I was kept informed about my surgery throughout my stay and truly felt that staff went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable and incredibly well looked after. An outstanding hospital full of kind, caring, friendly and highly skilled staff. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

  8. Review titled A & E Brilliant

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Margaret Prince - Posted on 17 August 2023

I attended A&E Sunday at 8pm. I'd caught my trouser leg with my other foot which caused me to fall very heavily onto block paving. I went down at an angle on my side and head. I had tripped on the Saturday evening, and it was the Sunday my left side was really giving me a lot of pain and around my eye (though not painful), was black down to my cheek and very swollen. My husband took me to A&E about 20:00. I checked in at the reception, a very efficient, friendly young lady swiftly saw to me and asked me to wait. I was then seen by a young women who took all my details, before I was processed. I was given an ECG, 3 X-rays and a CT scan, plus examinations and other chats and details. The Dr then let me (us) know that I had a cracked rib, severe bruising etc, and what do do if anything changed and how to treat my injury, and we left 23:30. The attention I received was exemplary, all the staff including a porter, I encountered were helpful, efficient, friendly as well as competent. They made what might have been a traumatic experience a very positive one. The Dr. was superb and made me feel like his only patient, with a great attitude. I would like the staff on duty that night (Sunday,13th August) to know that their effort and attitude was very much appreciated. With best wishes Margaret Prince

  9. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ian Godfrey - Posted on 17 August 2023

My 94 year old mother had a fall in Tonbridge and was taken to the hospital by an Ambulance team that happened to be nearby. The care she got for everyone involved was just great to witness especially the 2 doctors that signed here off to go home. They gave so much care and respect it was very humbling and her age was clearly no barrier to her treatment which included a CT scan shortly after arrival at the hospital. Follow up care was also arranged and I just want to say a sincere thank you to all those involved.

  10. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Frances Lyons - Posted on 23 August 2023

My son (10) had a potential neck injury from a sports camp and we are so grateful for the wonderful care he received from the ambulance staff, children’s A&E, the MRI scanning team and the Hedgehog Ward. It was really scary as he had a possible head/ neck injury and the staff were so thorough and kind even though they were so busy. All the doctors explained everything in easy to understand terms and left no stone unturned. The nurses were always helpful and kind even when we got a bit impatient to go home. Please can our thanks be passed to everyone involved and the orthopaedic doctor who saw us just before we went home (and to the other doctors too). Our sincere thanks to such hard working and excellent professionals.
