  1. Review titled Fantastic service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Graham - Posted on 23 January 2023

My son was transferred from Maidstone hospital to Tunbridge Wells hospital for emergency surgery on Saturday evening. Everyone, from the Maidstone A&E team, the Ambulance team, the A&E and surgery team at Tunbridge Wells and the nursing staff in the Hedgehog Ward were amazing. A real credit to the NHS. The quality of service and the care and compassion that they exhibited were exemplary. It is wonderful knowing that we live in an area that is so well staffed for medical care. Well done and thank you everyone!

Dear Graham Thank you for taking the time to send your feedback regarding the care and treatment your son received when unfortunately he had to attend Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals. Though I am sorry to learn that your son was unwell, I am pleased that the care and treatment he received was exemplary and that staff showed real care and compassion. Staff always appreciate receiving such kind words and praise for their hard work and dedication, so please be assured that I will pass your feedback onto the relevant management teams so that it can be shared amongst staff. 2. Review titled Poor aftercare after birth

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 May 2024

I was booked in for an induction last January, which I was lucky to have had such a wonderful experience with, and no pain relief required. I expressed to the staff how much I'd like to breastfeed, after having a failed experience with my first baby. The support I had recieved was poor with no offer of help from their feeding team. They had discharged us before I was ready as they needed the room, even thought the whole ward was empty. At the point of discharge, I physically could not feed my baby, and I was desperate for help with getting him latched. He had a very bad tongue tie which went unnoticed, despite me telling them I could see he was tied. I explained all this to my midwife who visited after discharge, who then referred me to Crowborough Birth Centre. They were of great help in regards to breastfeeding, and were very knowledgeable in being able to recognise a good and poor latch. So if you are having a baby at Pembury with the wishes to breastfeed, I'd definitely recommend having backup support, like a lactation consultant if you can afford one. But it could've just been my experience, and hopefully it was just a one-off as I feel slightly failed by not receiving the support which I shouldn't have had to beg for.

Good morning, I was sorry to read of your experience with the lack of aftercare/support you received with feeding your baby prior to discharge from the hospital. I was pleased to read that you found the staff at Crowborough Birth Centre knowledgeable and helpful. We shall of course share your experience with both teams and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Should you wish to discuss your experience further, please do contact us using the contact information below. Kindest Regards, Sylvia PALS Officer 01622 224960/01892 638953 mtw-tr.palsoffice@nhs.net

  3. Review titled Excellent paediatric emergency department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Amy L - Posted on 01 January 2023

Reception check in was satisfactory and then in paediatric A&E the staff were so caring, kind, focussed and knowledgeable. I felt that my son was safe and would be made well again. We were seen promptly and in the right order of severity of symptoms. Couldn’t fault anyone.

  4. Review titled First class service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by DUNCAN BRUCE - Posted on 29 January 2023

My second visit to A&E in the last few months, this one was to the COVID centre, I was suffering from severe throat pain , ear and head pain, unable to eat or drink or take medication for 3 days, and suffering COVID , staff were absolutely perfect and attentive, nothing to much of a problem, checked over thoroughly , given fluids and pain medication through drip, then heavier pain medication again through drip, throat examined so that after a few hours throat had slightly improved so I could go home and eat and drink, and take medication. Second visit and like the first time absolute perfection, so pleased hospital administration should be well pleased with this department.

  6. Review titled Great service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 December 2022

I ended up in A&E with my daughter after being advised by 111 to attend. All staff in the children’s department were kind, courteous and friendly. We were so well taken care of. We were there 2 hours apx. There are signs up advising of a potential 4 hour wait so I was really impressed that we were seen and out in around half that time, as they seemed really busy. My daughter felt so looked after and I felt they did their absolute best to get her feeling better again. Very happy and super grateful to all staff involved in dealing with us that night.

  7. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My father was brought in by ambulance at five in the morning when A & E was very busy. He was seen immediately and had a barrage of tests as the ambulance crew were concerned. He was treated extremely well and with great kindness with everyone accepting his sense of humour and my brother and I were also treated very well.

  8. Review titled Disrespectful Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 December 2022

Took my daughter there today as she was suffering from a cough and congested nose. That just wouldn't leave her alone, she is a toddler. Yet when she goes to see the triage nurse get told she looks fine to her and then tells me to sit in the corridor for the doctor. No mention of how long this will take and basically looking at me as if I wad a liar. My partner went to ask how long the doctor wait would be. Same nurse she said is it you or the other one waiting with your child as you both cannot wait. She then continued ohh it maybe a 2 hour wait at least!!!! So first of all you were rude then rude again and then think its ok for a toddler to wait there for over 2 hours for a doctor. Yeah ok thank you for your unhelpful service. When did the NHS get so rude.

I had to take my father (86 with cancer) to a&e late friday afternoon as he had developed a problem with his stoma. He was seen very promptly and passed to the correct department very quickly. I would like to thank the staff for their polite, respectful and prompt attention. We were kept updated at all times and all staff made sure that my father was comfortable and understood what was going on.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

On September 28 and 30 I was sent to Pembury for heart stress test over two days Every thing was fine. I have also a replacement knee surgery for 14/12/22 . In short because the consultant never checked the scans over the 70 odd days that elapsed I lost the operation the whole thing has been going on for 18 months . Unbelievable
