I attended for a colonoscopy, not the nicest procedure but all the staff from receptionists to the nurses were friendly, professional and supportive. Every effort was made to make me feel confident and the whole procedure was carried out without problem and despite declining sedation or pain relief I was comfortable throughout without discomfort. I cannot praise the staff at Lewisham high enough, despite pressure of work and some awkward patients they were never anything but exemplary. Highly recommend.

Was referred by GP to see Orthopaedic consultant about hip pain - having had an X ray 6 months previously. I was shown my Xray - informed the arthritis wasn’t too bad and put on the list for Physio . Couldn’t have been in there more than 2 minutes. The Consultant seemed very uninterested and as if he couldn’t wait to move on to the next patient. I understand there is a lot of pressure to get through lists , but a brief chat about how I felt , my lifestyle etc would have been nice ! I left feeling I had wasted his time

I went in for a gynecology procedure involving general anaesthetic. The staff in a ward and in the anaesthesia dept were all very kind, professional and made me feel comfortable. Being kind and caring, and explaining wheat they were doing/intended to do was the main thing that helped. Thank you Lewisham hospital 😊

My nurse in pre/op Assessment in Yellow zone was lovely warm & welcoming made me feel very relaxed and not apprehensive. Her whole approach was solution focused and extreme helpful. Lewisham Hospital staff really know their patients can’t thank her enough for today 24th May 2024.

I visited A&E on a Friday night. Despite it being incredibly busy, I was seen and my problem resolved in under an hour. The staff were great - really helpful and friendly. Thank you for everything you do!

After arriving on time for a 9:30 appointment, it was nearly 2 hours before we were seen by the audiologist. We were advised a half hour waiting time due to severe delays but the wait was far longer with no further communication. It felt as though we were waiting in urgent care rather than for a booked appointment. The appointment lasted less than 5 minutes and could have been done over the phone. Toilets were absolutely filthy in the ENT department and the main entrance. Staff were stressed and uncaring. Thoroughly disappointed with our visit.

I went to the Hospital seeking urgency care and left 5 hours later without even going through the triage. Staff couldn’t care less. I asked for help for 3 of them and was promptly ignored.

On Wednesday evening someone phoned with an urgent appointment and I was at Lewisham Hospital the next morning. The process was so smooth. I went in at 10am and was out at 12.30 - having seen a consultant, had a mammogram and seen a radiographer. All the staff were very kind and patient and explained things to me clearly. I was amazed at the efficiency of the process.

I spent a week in the Hawthorne Ward recently and was so impressed by the care and consideration shown to me and other patients by every member of staff looking after us. I observed considerable kindness and compassion to very vulnerable people. At what can be an anxious time they were always kind and supportive 24 hours a day. I would sincerely like to thank them all for the exceptional treatment.

My experience at the hospital has been great thus far. The medical and support staff work tirelessly to ensure everyone’s hospital experience is comfortable. Among all the teams I came to meet site managers who work pretty much behind the scenes taking care of patients and staff Winnie and Bonsu are hardworking, empathetic and very professional they truly are hidden heroes. I appreciate and value them.
