Review titled Brilliant experience in urgent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by JHall - Posted on 05 July 2024
I would just like to feedback to you and give thanks for the excellent service I received in urgent care last Friday evening 28th June. Having tried to get a doctor’s appointment without success I ended up attending urgent care with a problem with my left eye. After a pretty long wait due to low numbers of doctors available, I eventually got in to see the doctor. I was attended to by a Scottish gentleman who was brilliant. He diagnosed the issue, provided some eye ointment and advised I needed to attend James Cook Eye A&E the following morning. I attended Eye A&E at James Cook the following morning and they confirmed his diagnosis. The staff in Urgent Care are excellent event though they are constantly under pressure. Please pass my thanks to the department and to the doctor that treated me.

I had an appointment with a nurse from the diabetic clinic at 1pm on the 24/06/24. This was my first visit to meet the nurse. She was excellent at explaining processes. She had warmth, empathy and understanding. Thank you

With my son in law I recently was a birthing partner to my daughter for the delivery of my first grandson, I initially was very apprehensive about this but from the moment I entered the maternity delivery suite I could feel how relaxed & calm the environment was, staff were welcoming, professional and reassuring. The care, patience and compassion my daughter received from midwives and HCA who cared for her was exemplary. It was her first baby and she wasn’t the easiest of patients ( she is laughing about it now ) but staff did their upmost to keep her calm and in control. They supported her to safely deliver a beautiful boy. Thank you for the quality care both mum, baby and myself received .

Review titled Saved my life”
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted to A & E with Pneumonia, Sepsis, Septic Shock, Respiratory Failure and Kidney Failure. If it had not been for the doctors quick diagnosis and treatment I would have died. My poor daughter was on her own and hysterical as I was so poorly but the staff kept her up to date and informed with everything they were doing. Thank you so much.

Review titled Excellent service at such short notice.

Following a 111 telephone call on Sunday 7th April I was given a very rapid appointment to attend emergency care at 1pm I was seen within 20 minutes having registered with the extremely efficient and caring staff at reception. My examination and preliminary diagnosis' was carried out by the medical practitioner on duty at the time who again was very professional and very very reassuring. I attended with my wife who is a medical doctor (retired) and to say we were very impressed would be an understatement. First class care received leaving us feeling that we were privileged to have been referred to North Tees Hospital.

Review titled Podiatry
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Graham - Posted on 10 April 2024
Evidently my review needs changing, so today I went to have my foot ulcers redressed, the podiatrist was very professional kept me informed of how my wounds were progressing, and very supportive of my on going issues I have been receiving treatment for foot ulcers for several months, (can I just say that podiatry is not on the list of departments.) I am seen at the hospital due to needing more attention, as I am a long standing diabetic, and have cancer. I have been given care by several podiatrists, evidently I can’t give names, however they are a mixed bunch of amazing caring people, very professional in their own ways. Which makes for great support at each visit. Makes my week seeing them. Evidently my review needs changing, so today I went , the podiatrist was very professional kept me informed of how my wounds were progressing, and very supportive of my on going issues

I was admitted to the sdu on 24th March and was very poorly when I first arrived. I will be forever grateful for the care and treatment I received from all members of staff responsible for my care. Today marks the 11th day of my stay & what a difference these amazing people have made to both my mental and physical health. To them they are just doing their job, to me, its so much more than that. North Tees &Hartlepool trust you have an incredible team on the surgical decisions unit! Thank you to each and everyone of you responsible for my care over the last few weeks (this is the 3rd time I have been admitted this year).

Review titled “Saved my life”
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lesley McCheyne - Posted on 03 August 2024
After being transferred from A & E I was in ITU for 5 days. Although I can not remember all of my time there what I can remember is all staff were fantastic. My family stated they kept them informed of my progress and what treatment I was getting. All staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I do remember trying to pull out Cannulas and shouting that I needed to be discharged and the staff were out to get me, as my condition improved I was so embarrassed by this that U could not apologise to the staff enough. They informed me that it was very common for patients to experience delusions due to all the strong medications and the illness itself, they put my mind at ease. The only negative I have is that being a conscious patient I would have liked a commode by the side of my bed. The staff, all of them, are brilliant, experienced and approachable, I can’t thank them enough.

Review titled Brilliant staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lesley McCheyne - Posted on 03 August 2024
After being in A & E, then ITU I was transferred to ward 25. I can honestly say that all the staff, doctors, nurses, support staff, cleaners, volunteers, all I came into contact with were fantastic. They were all friendly, experienced, empathetic and supportive. I do not like being in hospital but I can say with all honesty is that I actually did not mind being a patient on ward 25. The food was good, ward was very clean, staff would spend time talking and having a laugh with me which is just what I needed. Everyone I came in contact with enjoyed their jobs and were happy, again this makes the ward special. Many thanks.
