  1. Review titled Car Parking and Blue Badge

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ivor Morgan - Posted on 25 August 2023

To Whom it may concern, i have attended the hospital on numerous occasions this year, the visit mid June i had a xray taken, and my wife was present with me. I am a blue badge holder, and because we had just acquired a new car, i took the blue badge to the security office, to get my new car registered.Unfortunately the office was closed, and we went to the main reception desk, the receptionist give us a form to fill out, and we handed the form back.I attended the cardiology department for a 24 hour ecg on the friday 11th august, then had a cardiology appointment on the 16th. ( i am recovering  from a heart attack , which i suffered at the end of June ).Yesterday i received a PCN notice, for non payment of car park charges, from the appointment of the 16th August. I have been in touch with the security office, who on investigation say my new car wasnt registered. I have had to pay a fee of Forty Pounds, which i am not very happy about, especially since i have tried to keep the vehicle registered under the blue badge scheme.I am feeling very bitter about this , so much so that I now want nothing to do with North Tees ever again, in spite of the excellent care that i have received so far. So can you assure me that any further appointments can be made at South Tees Trust, under what ever cardiologist is appointed to me.

  2. Review titled Excellent care and support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Martha McIntosh - Posted on 13 July 2023

Attended Grace dental clinic today with needle phobic teenager. The anethstatist, nurse and dentist were supportive, caring and considerate of my daughters phobia. This team were exceptional and went above and beyond, including realising that she wasn't suitable for treatment to continue due to the level of her anxiety. They booked alternative treatment after trying everything they could and we really did appreciate all they did today. Thankyou

  4. Review titled Great experience at urgent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 July 2023

Thank you to the staff who was very professional , friendly and attentive this evening in urgent care. I was prepared for a dreaded long wait after triage but got seen and got my injury sorted in an hour - xrays, meds and vaccines included. The radiologist even helped me with the heavy door that i would have struggled to open. Thanks again to all staff!

  5. Review titled poor induction experience

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 July 2024

After over a year of trauma I’m now having the courage to speak out about my traumatic experience with North Tees maternity Unit. 11/6/23- I was sent in for a pessary induction. It started out terrible. I was there 5 minutes before being told “there wasn’t enough staff to monitor me and baby” (please take into account my induction was due to reduced movements). After this (3hrs after) I had my pessary inserted and my induction began. Nightshift staff came on, and I can not even describe the poor care I was given, very patronising, telling me I’m “clearly not coping” with the pain I was in. I was given gas and air and had the natural response of throwing up, my partner was told to let go of my hand, and clear up the sick for them, again, this wouldn’t have been an issue had they not used a patronising tone. 12/6 - no sleep naturally with the pain I was in, and I can’t fault the day staff, very understanding to the situation however still, no progress, lack of care, my body was starting to have enough after 3 pessaries (why there was no intervention I will not know) 13/6 - given the option for c-section for failure to progress. Was nail by mouth from 6am, by 1pm I was told I would be going down the next day and was moved onto a ward. 14/6- my daughters birthday. I can not fault the surgeons, however after my section, they wheeled me out in my bed, and hit my bed into a door on my way to recovery. When I was placed on a ward my newborn baby was put directly infront of a shared bathroom, my brand new baby. I told every midwife I came into contact with I wanted skin to skin. My daughter was born at 13:11pm, I didn’t receive skin to skin until 17:59pm and this was because they thought I was breast feeding, as soon as they realised I wasn’t they took her off me and placed her back down until I gave her a bottle. This ruined my bonding experience entirely, they stripped me from that. (My partner also broke down at the state of my care to which the midwife responded “you better go home, you’re clearly no use here”) I’d had a section, couldn’t stand up, this wasn’t a great response from them. 15/6- the day we came home, the nurse came over to me, and told me a doctor would come to speak to me, he never did, they discharged me with no information on the blood thinners I was to be taking, they let me walk out, no communication, it could have been anyone walking in and out. I personally would avoid this hospital at all costs, as I said, I’ve only just managed to get over my trauma from my birth experience, I had it stripped from me with poor decision making, 3 days of induction with no progress, complete agony, and no intervention from the people who are meant to be looking after me. Endangering my baby, 3 long days of hormones. Why I wasn’t offered a section sooner I will never know. 4 women came into the induction room and out of it before I’d even been offered a c-section. One woman as she walked past even said “aw look, she’s still there” shocking

  6. Review titled They really helped me to feel relaxed and calm

    by Amanda266 - Posted on 08 September 2023

They really helped me to feel relaxed and calm and also knew about any allergies I had and my dietary needs. They are amazing and I want to say thank you to all the staff at North Tees Hospital for when I got admitted with my high blood sugars, as well when I had severe pancreatitis and they looked after me on the ICU unit.

  7. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen - Posted on 13 June 2023

Took my elderly mother for an appointment today. The staff in the colorectal teams were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, kind, supportive, gave very clear explanations of procedures and options. Patient care at its very best and a fine example of collaborative working within that team.

I visited Paediatrics A&E with my son and husband early hours. The staff were amazing! My son has special educational needs which was was taken on board when examining and communicating with him. The doctor, nurse and health care assistant were brilliant and the doctor signed to him which meant a lot to me and my husband! You all do an amazing job, thank you so much!!

  9. Review titled Team work

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On 28th May I was admitted to the stroke ward n was there overnight were tests were taking place with different members of staff on different levels from consultants, Dr's, staff nurses all from different steps of the ladder from those at the top to working down to the lovely lady cleaning the ward. The humanity these people showed to me while I was there was unbelievable nothing fazed them they had a smile on their faces n while 1 nurse was doing 1 jobs maybe It took longer than expected the other members of staff filled in paperwork for her. They all worked as a team if you asked for anything it was done for you . Myself its a wonder they put up with me as I kept asking if I could go home after tests were done and all was fine. I was kept in overnight as I'd had a minor strike. These angels looked after me there humanity laughter always smiling I will never forget ❤ good luck to the ones training and you all on that ward don't change your all fantastic 👏

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We had to visit Urgent Care today because my partner cut his hand with a Stanley knife doing DIY. I would just like to say a massive thank you to the two fantastic ladies that sorted him out. They were absolutely brilliant, we laughed a lot, had a great chat and they looked after him wonderfully. Thank you
