I had reason to visit this department today, being very concerned and worried about my particular ailment. All the staff were helpful and professional. I was extremely pleased and very grateful for the care I received and the aftercare which I was administered. Thank you North Tees!

Review titled Empathy and efficiency
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My husband has spinal stenosis. He is in great pain and his mobility is becoming more and more limited. Our experience of Orthopaedic Outpatients is of a caring team whose thoroughness and efficiency cannot be sufficiently commended. He has the option of an operation and the implications of this were most thoroughly explained. Kindness and consideration were shown at all stages of his contact with them. Thank you all very much.

Review titled Staff In No Rush
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 May 2023
Spent 5 hours in a+e waiting to be seen after being told by 111 to attend as soon as I could as I needed to be seen within 2 hours. Mentioned this to staff, as 111 had advised me to do, just got told that I would be seen when it was my turn. Any time I would try and speak to staff they would just interrupt and talk over me, not listening at all. Finally got my bloods taken and was told that it would be an hour and half to get my results back and see a doctor. 4 hours later, still waiting. Finally saw a doctor who proceeded to not listen to a word I said and told me that I was wrong in describing my symptoms. Then got told I was fine and they were discharging me as they needed the bed. Total time spent at hospital, 10 hours. Staff just wandering about, making jokes, having chats about nights out and drinking tea. There were old people and sick children all waiting and not one member of staff seemed to be in any rush. Worst thing of all, however, was the fact that the floor of the waiting room was littered with drink bottles, crisp packets and just generally dirty, didn’t see one cleaner during my entire visit. I won’t visit this hospital again

Review titled I felt I was rushed through my appointment as fast as possible
by statusqq78 - Posted on 16 May 2023
I felt I was rushed through my appointment as fast as possible. All the physio wanted to do was to throw a set of exercises at me and get me off their books asap, job done. By the time I left the building I'd already forgotten the exercises they had steamed through. No explanatory instruction sheets were offered, so I'm left to do exercises I can ill remember and in all likelihood will do incorrectly thus exacerbating rather than solving the problem. I feel I was discounted and am no further from understanding or addressing the pain I'm in. A frustrating experience that has left me rather depressed.

Review titled Wonderful staff and treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kathryn Turner - Posted on 05 March 2023
Yesterday my sister and I attended this department with our 97 year old father. He had an infection, which he has experienced before. He told us about it that same morning, therefore we unfortunately had no option but to use the service on a Saturday morning. The whole department was amazing - from initial reception to the final assessment and treatment we were treated efficiently and in a calm, polite and pleasant way. Although it was very busy we were in and out in under an hour - fantastic. Thankyou so much to you all.

Review titled Well worth the wait
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rick Smith - Posted on 26 March 2023
Turned up Saturday night unit was extremely busy. Staff apologised for likely long wait. My wife was extremely dehydrated after a4 week bout of flu something similar The live patient indicator screen indicated we could expect the full process from beginning to end to take about 5 and 1/2 hours. And so it did but it was well worth the wait. The staff from receptionist porters and medics were extremely sympathetic and couldn't do enough throughout the process My wife received a full once over and obviously testing results will never be quick but how important to get instant responses within an hour or so So thank you very much about all a credit to the organization and we are very fortunate indeed to be able to call on the services of this unit

I was admitted to the ward last week. My stay was wonderful even though i was in pain. The nurses were so kind and understanding. Honestly big thumbs up to all the staff though. You work so hard and still manage to put a smile on patients faces. Thank you so much.

Review titled Poor Antenatal care
by Jolex93 - Posted on 08 June 2023
I was disappointed in the midwives - they seem overwhelmed and not able to cope with the workload. Chaos at appointments and having to wait for over a hour. Midwifes refusing to see patients as they had double booked. Constantly receiving texts with changed times , having to see a different midwife at every appointment and getting asked the same questions. No booking in system so midwives are unaware you have arrived. Very poor service and midwifes appear uninterested. Awful depressing clinic, conveyor belt service and not fit for purpose. Clearly a desperate shortage of midwifes.

Review titled Great care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 January 2023
Had to visit urgent care due to a condition worsening and not being able to get a GP appointment. I wasn’t even there an hour and that was without a pre booked appointment, I just walked in. The doctor I saw was absolutely lovely, so caring and kind. I really couldn’t fault my visit and want to thank the team for their hard work and doing their best to look after everyone during these difficult times.
