  4. Review titled Like a third world country

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 March 2023

Accident and Emergency dept. Staff unsympathetic and rude and uncaring. Wait times disgraceful. Broken equipment. Obs machines not working. One thermometer for whole dept. No blankets or pillows. So many patients crying and distressed in A&E for 12+ hours. 6th richest country in the world and Warrington hospital like being in a third world country. Changed so much in the last decade. Left for 8 hours on a hard plastic chair (lucky to find one) other sick people lying on the floors and foyer, whilst staff in reception laughing joking showing each other pics on their phones, supping their coffee absolutely couldn't care less, just shrugging and saying the "wait time is now 10 +hours and thats the way it is. " . Not good enough, treating sick and vulnerable people with no empathy, kindness or care. Florence Nightingale must be turnjng in her grave.

  6. Review titled Urgent Treatment Centre

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lorna Edmondson - Posted on 26 February 2023

My husband was admitted to this unit with a having had ascan earlier that day DVT in his leg and further scans revealed a problem with his femoral artery. He was transferred by ambulance the next day to the specialist vascular department at the Countess of Chester hospital where he later had major surgery to bypass the artery . The attention , speed and diagnosis of his condition was amazing. The medical and ancillary staff were so professional and caring. I was regularly offered food and refreshments while I was with my husband and kept informed at all times of his treatment. The care he received was first class and we cant thank all of the staff enough The unit is an invaluable asset for the hospital and the communities of Warrington and Halton

  7. Review titled Poor service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 February 2023

Blood test dept, took me from 9am to 3.55 to get an appointment. For people working this is very inefficient and time consuming. Need to let people book on and get sent a date and time. Or at least an alternative to the current system.

  8. Review titled A great team

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 February 2023

: I recently had elective surgery at Warrington hospital. Every team I encountered was professional and caring: the lovely lady in the waiting list team, the friendly pre-op team, the super-busy ward staff on a5, and of course the calming theatre staff and surgeon. Everyone involved helped to relieve the stress I felt about having an operation under general anaesthetic, despite being incredibly busy. The NHS continues to deliver great care despite the challenges that it faces, I would like to say thank you to everyone involved and repeat what I said in theatre before going to sleep, “I know I am in safe hands”.

  9. Review titled Excellent and prompt treatment and care

    by john3173 - Posted on 03 January 2023

Attended A&E with a nasty cut to my arm which had displaced the flesh and needed cleaning and stitching. On arrival I saw seven ambulance queuing, patient reception full of waiting patients, I anticipated at least a four to five hour wait to be assessed and treated. Within an hour I was seen by the nurse for assessment and referred to the minor injuries unit to have the wound cleaned and stiched. Both nurses were marvelous, attentive to my needs and treatment, I think the A&E staff are like ducks on water, calm on top but their feet paddling for all they are worth. I would like to thank the nurses and staff for their care and organisation in processing my care so effectively.

  10. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Clive H - Posted on 16 January 2023

I attended for a sigmoidoscopy last week. Even though I have had these before one is always a bit apprehensive; I have been a healthcare provider for over 40 years but it is quite different when you are on the receiving end quite literally! However I soon realised I need not worry, from the moment I was called from the waiting room by B, she was very empathic and professional; and I felt very much at ease as she placed the enema up my bottom!! Soon after wheeled in to the theatre to meet the team, fantastic group , obviously very skilled in their roles but found time to introduce themselves and explain the procedure. Overall I am very grateful for everything that was done from a highly skilled caring team.
