    I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy only a couple of days ago and all the staff were amazing!!! I can not fault any part of my time on the maternity ward to delivery suite staff are so kind and caring and take the time with you I was made to feel so calm and relaxed.. such an amazing team who I can’t thank enough for making my experience such a special one and I’ll never forget

    I had to be sent to the outpatients department because my doctors was unable to see me. The nurse I seen was 10 mins late and guessed what the problem with my skin is, this is the second time I have seen her and both times she didn't look at my skin properly. I also had another issue to talk about and she was unhappy that I did and told me I was taking up too much time, I told her it is difficult to get an appointment at my doctors surgery as I have tried many times to see someone. She had to leave the room to get me something and this took her at least 5 minutes for some reason and yet she had the cheek to tell me I was taking up too much of her time. I don't expect to be talked to like this especially when it is stressful as it is to get seen by someone.

    Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to share your unpleasant experience with us. I am sorry to read about your experience at the outpatients department. This is certainly not how we want patients to feel. I would like our Patient, Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) to have the opportunity to look into this for you, I feel that with you trying to get a GP appointment and then attending West Cumberland Hospital that your appointment might have been with another organisation. Could I ask you to contact PALS either by phone or email and share your details and the date and time of your appointment and we can determine who your appointment was with and if needed share with the correct organisation. If your appointment was with this NHS Trust then PALS can share your experience with the matron and ask them to contact you to discuss your experience.     I am a regular to Dermatology, have been for several years and always find the service first rate. I never find myself having to wait more than the allotted appointment time. Appointments are never rushed and I am pleased to say I am always made to feel comfortable and part of the consultation, you are never talked down to. I owe my current well being and quality of life to the Dermatology Department. I cannot thank them enough, Terence Morton

    While I was having a very difficult procedure in the womens outpatient, I was so pleased with all the nurses who helped look after me while I was there. Every single nurse I saw went above and beyond to make sure I was okay and nothing was too much to ask. The main blonde female nurse who looked after me on the first day of my treatment made the experience so much easier. I was so impressed with the level of care and compassion shown by each of the nurses who were always happy to help. When I was transferred to the ward overnight the two night nurses who looked after me were amazing, making sure I knew I could press my call button even if I just wanted someone to talk to. I cannot describe the level of professionalism and kindness they showed me during a very difficult experience. Left a long lasting positive impression of west Cumberland hospital.

    I attended A&E on Sunday 14th Aug this year with a large red rash on my upper left thigh and groin, It transpired I had contracted a Flesh Eating Virus that spreads rapidly and is fatal, Thanks to the rapid action of the triage Nurse and then the Doctor and Consultant I was moved to Carlsie in double quick time to be met by a surgical team, the quick action of the team at Whitehaven ensured I had a fighting chance to get to Carlise and they are the reason I am here now typing this, All I can say is you have my deepest gratitude and I will always be in the debt.. Again Thank You All and keep up the great work

    Attended A&E 1/7/2022. I was seen within 4 hours. Staff were caring & considerate, thorough in assessing my condition. I was subsequently admitted to ward 6/EAU. Where I received kind and patient care. I am very hard of hearing and Staff showed great communication skills. Made sure I knew what was happening. After staying overnight I was discharged. My experience of West Cumberland hospital services reminded me how caring, dedicated & professional the staff are. A very positive experience. Thank you.
