Review titled Caring and sensitive
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Katherine Collins - Posted on 19 February 2025
Non-verbal relative with complex medical needs. Admitted to A&E after a minor collapse but it took the care and patience of staff to get him back on his feet and back to his care home.

Review titled Still waiting not sure how long a referral takes
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 February 2025
My 14 year old son fractured his hip playing football in October. We attended the fracture clinic & the doctor who saw him put a referral in to physio. We had a follow up appointment New Year’s Eve 2024 & the doctor asked my son how he was getting on with his physio he said he hadn’t had any the doctor was surprised asked if I had received a letter or any communication about how long the waiting list was I said no so he put in another referral. End of January I chased with my doctor who said they cound not contact the physio dept as my son was under the hospital fracture clinic so I rang them - they said a referral had been put in & I had to wait. I asked if I could contact the physio dept myself but told a doctor had to do the chasing & referrals & that had been done & to wait. It’s now February my son being a teenager & as the doctor said wait 6weeks from New Year’s Eve before being active & participating in sports has been counting down everyday & told me he wants to go back to play football & basketball & do PE again at school (as he’s doing it for his GCSE) & he’s worried about falling behind & becoming unhealthy not doing any activity. Not sure if there could be a better way to acknowledge if people are on a waiting list - even if a long wait so you know you have not been lost in the system or how long the wait may be.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you very much for your feedback. Please accept my sincere apologies for the issues you have encountered. Having an equally active teenager of the same age I completely sympathize with your mutual frustration (my son plays rugby and the concussion-induced three week enforced lay-off from activity nearly drove us all stir-crazy!). I am very sorry that I cannot help you further directly here and now – if you still haven’t had resolution please contact the PALS team at Wexham Park - fhft.palswexhampark@nhs.net – and they should be able to help resolve your issues. Review titled Best practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dan Maher - Posted on 05 January 2025
My learning disability son was admitted to A&E yesterday and received high quality intervention and care by reception staff, a doctor and nurse. They were keen to communicate with us at every step and were genuinely caring and supportive. When I become a billionaire I will build you a high spec modern, highly resourced hosp that you all deserve to work in as well as for patients. Thanks a million for successfully sorting out my son's health issue.

Review titled Don’t care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 February 2025
I broke my upper humerus and was seen by A&E. They said I may need surgery, didn’t have the required sling available and sent me home with no instructions as to what to do. I had a follow up a week later at orthopaedic outpatients where I had more x rays and eventually saw a doctor an hour after my appointment who said I would in all likelihood need surgery. He said they would meet the following day to decide. I have heard nothing since. Despite trying to get to speak to someone - which is almost impossible - I eventually got out through to the receptionist twice. On both days she was in voicemail and I left messages. I have had no response. I am very worried that I may need surgery - would like to know one way or the other - and nobody seems to care.

Review titled Great service

I was admitted to DSU2 for a surgical procedure under the ENT team. Without fail, everyone I encountered (nursing staff, surgeon, anaesthetic team, scrub nurse etc) was friendly, professional, attentive, reassuring and kept me informed throughout of what to expect, timelines etc. The surgeon came to see me in the afternoon to check all was well and I was discharged promptly (with meds) a couple of hours later as soon as the necessary post-op blood results were available. I had a follow-up call the next day from the DSU2 nursing team to check all well. Honestly could not fault my experience.

Review titled Long waiting period
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2024
Initial service was great and very quick, but then l had to wait more than 2 hours to have blood samples taken. Another 2hours to see a doctor and then 4 hours waiting to see a surgeon but eventually l got tired and l had to leave without seeing the surgeon, l had to leave without getting getting the help l came for. I waited for more than 8 hours in total, but still l did not get the help l needed. I would say the waiting time is just too much, l don't know what can be done to improve on that. Imagine waiting 8hours but still not getting the help. Please help on that. Thank you.

Review titled Such amazing service and lovely staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rachael Bowsher - Posted on 20 October 2024
We arranged in the evening after my daughter fell and hit her head at Legoland, and was suffering from memory loss. We were triaged straight away and seen within half hour of being there. The staff were so lovely and helpful with an understandable upset little girl. The Nurse who assessed my daughter was such an asset to your hospital. She made her feel right at ease, even get some smiles from my daughter, we left feeling at ease and very grateful for the NHS and all the staff. I hope this can be passed onto the nurse and all the staff.

Review titled Carry on Film Sunday Service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Nicholas Stabler - Posted on 28 October 2024
Broken Ct scanner in a and e, no one bothered to inform reception. No alternative arrangements made. The triage nurse I saw after was appallingly rude and uncaring. Medal for one of the a and e receptionists and one of the ambulance admission nurses who sorted out my scan and followed up on it. But the triage nurse was shocking and should be investigated. We don't go there for a fun day out and we don't choose to be ill and sometimes very scared of what's going on.

Review titled staff goes over and beyond
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Joanna - Posted on 26 October 2024
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the team in A&E on the night of October 24th to 25th. The staff went above and beyond to support me, providing all the information I needed, patiently repeating details when I wasn’t sure or didn’t understand. Their kindness and caring attitude were truly wonderful in a moment of pain and exhaustion. I also appreciated the advice to return in the morning to avoid a long wait once it was determined my injury wasn’t urgent; this allowed me to get some rest. It showed impressive management and organizational skills, which are clearly essential with the constant flow of patients filling the waiting room—especially given the challenges of an understaffed department. I understand the waiting time reached 12 hours that night, which is difficult both for patients and staff, and I hope steps can be taken to improve this. Despite the pressure and stress they must experience, the team worked highly efficiently, but there simply aren’t enough staff members to enable shorter waiting time for patients. Additionally, I observed the staff skillfully handling difficult situations, including managing a patient who initially displayed aggressive behavior. They calmed him down within a few minutes, showing remarkable patience and professionalism. Thank you as well to the team members who carefully examined my X-ray, provided advice, fitted me with a special boot, and answered my questions with patience. Your team truly made a difference, and thanks to your amazing work, we were able to catch our flight in the afternoon and take children to visit grandparents during half-term!
