  1. Review titled Traumatic Nasal endoscopy examination

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Janice - Posted on 13 September 2022

At my appointment today I was told by the doctor that he was going to put a camera up my nose to check my throat. He did not explain the procedure or prepared me for what I could expect but swiftly stuck the tube up my nose and down my throat. This was so painful and distressing, I was so shocked it brought me to tears. I understand that some procedures can be uncomfortable and distressing but had I been forewarned I could have prepared myself for what was to come. Additional to this the doctor was very insensitive and showed no compassion when he could see that I was clearly distressed and in pain. An unacceptable situation that left me feeling emotionally distressed. However, at the blood test appointment, I was shown some compassion by the nurse who saw my distress.

  2. Review titled Really great staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Samia - Posted on 26 September 2022

I was in A&E last Sunday and Monday and I just wanted to say thank you to the staff that kindly assisted me and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. It made a huge difference and made me less anxious about my condition. The doctors and nurses were super friendly.

  3. Review titled Excellent experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 October 2022

I was seen very promptly, and welcomed by nurses and the consultant. After a thorough examination, I was given a helpful diagnosis, and two possible options were explained. I was able to ask questions about what each would entail, and so was able to make an informed decision about the way forward.

  4. Review titled Amazing experience 🤩

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nat - Posted on 12 August 2022

I was done and dusted in 2 hours. A few years ago, I waited just to be triaged for 4 hours. The process was very efficient from arrival, through assessment, X-rays and follow up. All staff were friendly and helpful. I was even greeted by a cleaner in the corridor. Thanks for your help today 👍

  5. Review titled Awful experience, rude staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Will Knibbs - Posted on 05 August 2022

I was told to go to the hospital as a matter of urgency by 111 as I was suffering symptoms of a brain issue (seizure, headaches, pressure, confusion, fatigue) so I went in. I waited 6 hours to be seen and the doctor was inexplicably rude to me. Said that it was not an emergency as my vital signs were fine and that I should not waste their time as I was just stressed. I explained that I had a fit previously and was told that I needed to see a gp and not the hospital. I said I was really worried about my brain and that I felt that something was really not right but instead of trying to comfort me he told me to go home and that I shouldn't be there. I said I was advised I needed to come to the hospital and he said they say that to everyone and that 'you don't just turn up at the hospital because you think something is wrong with your brain' and 'if you are still worried you can go back to the nurse and wait another 6 hours'. I understand that he perhaps couldn't do the scans/tests I needed but was there any need to be so rude to me? And if this was the case why didn't the nurse tell me this instead of making me wait 6 hours in a waiting room in distress.

  7. Review titled Wrong practice no empathy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 August 2022

I was admitted in Mulburry ward I had emergency c section and as I was a first time mum. Didn't have much knowledge about nipple confusion and how strong it can be. Nurses in Whippscross hospital gave bottle to calm my crying baby. And I am still struggling to get my baby back to breast. I am frustrated because of all those bottle sterilization and breast pumping. I wish nurses it someone in the ward empathised with me and told me not to bottle feed and explained about the nipple confusion that occurs in baby. They removed my catheter too quickly and asked me to walk to toilet after oromorph. But I was in severe pain and I couldn't Ward was shortstaffed and nurses did not come to help in time. Some were rude, when asked to help to get out of bed and hold my hands a little Student nurse told me that she doesn't want to break her back helping me. Cried a lot Worse experience If they didn't have a stupid rule that relatives are not allowed after 8 pm My husband would have helped me Why such rules if you don't have enough staff to help patients. Wish never went to.this hospital

  8. Review titled Wonderful care from every part of the hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tasha Henry - Posted on 24 July 2022

I came in on 19/07 to the A&E with extreme abdomen and back pain. All the staff that handled me were extremely professional and did all they could. You can see they are very busy and understaffed but they always to their 100% best to make you feel comfortable and to help with your needs. The HCA on Rowan ward in bay 4 or bay D (who i cannot name due to the rules) is absolutely exceptional and goes out of her way to make sure each and every patient is cleaned, comfortable, watered, fed and her bay is always clean, she keeps a tight ship and is very caring. She made my stay here so much the better and she let us all know to ask her for anything. She goes above and beyond with a smile on her face and willing to help anyone. All the staff and doctors deserve alot of rewards as I see they work very hard. Thank you for nursing me back to health. This is definitely the most positive stay I have had in any hospital. Thank you all

  9. Review titled Absolutely Dreadful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 July 2022

I had three hours in the hospital. Had to wait to be told to wait again. Still wasn’t seen. The staff on the desk didn’t listen to me. They sent me to the wrong department. I phoned after I left to make an appointment and the operator was equally incompetent and extremely rude. The toilets had blood on the floor and the waiting was dirty with rubbish all over the seats. I discharged myself

  10. Review titled Can’t thank enough

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Elizabeth Freer - Posted on 27 July 2022

I was taken in by ambulance after having seizures and was sedated and on a ventilator for the first day or so. I was pretty much out of it and non-compliant but was treated with respect and care throughout. I cannot thank the staff team enough and feel overwhelmed by the whole experience. My job is safeguarding children, so to experience being safeguarded myself was unusual but I couldn’t fault anything that was done. I wish I could thank everyone individually but hope they get to see this. You are all my heroes 🦸‍♀️
