Review titled Lovely doctor
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 April 2023
I attended A&E for a painful and heavy miscarriage, I was in the waiting room for 5 minutes at most after triage when a doctor called me through. She was sympathetic and just lovely to speak to in quite an emotional and traumatic time. She ensured I was well taken care of and made sure I was seen to in gynecology asap.

Review titled Fantastic practice, joined up thinking, caring and kind
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Amazingly good. Kind, caring, professional and efficient. My father was admitted through a&e with extreme orthopaedic trauma and a number of serious comorbidities. He spent time on wards 3a, 3b and 3c.The communication between teams was exceptional. The treatment was timely , fully explained and effective. The doctors , nurses and all staff were kind, caring, available ,efficient and very hard working. It’s impossible to pick out any one member of staff as nothing was too much trouble for anyone on any of the wards. The communication between departments was excellent, everything was thought through, followed up and executed in a timely manner. Astounding for a service under such pressure. The discharge support on ward 3c was exceptional. We wanted to get dad home as quickly as possible with a care package that kept him safe at home. This meant him staying in hospital for a couple of days after he was fit to discharge. In a very busy ward, we were helped to arrange an appointment at another hospital while: including arranging an ambulance transfer on a strike day. The assistance received from the discharge team to organise things including living aids, checks inside the hospital, medication advice was way above and beyond you could ever expect in a service under so much pressure. We can’t thank everyone enough for saving dads life , getting his infection under control and getting him safely home with the minimum of fuss and the maximum of goodwill .

Review titled Grateful for the midwives, doctors etc.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 January 2023
We had to have an emergency c section on the 28th of December 2022. The midwife was great during labour and I’m grateful for the doctor and rest of the team for taking over when needed. We had to spend another 2 days or so in another ward and the midwives there were equally supportive, teaching us breastfeeding techniques etc. Parking is not extortionate and the food was great for a hospital.

Review titled Amazing care from all involved
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jane Fiona Elliott - Posted on 09 January 2023
This is the 7th hospital I have spent time in and I have never been so well looked after by all of the staff in ward 3a. Nothing was too much trouble from the cheery lady handing out the tea to the amazingly friendly and helpful nurses and doctors.I even got massages. Thanks so much to everyone involved.

Review titled A and E left me traumatised and anxious
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 February 2023
I proberly won't have anoth characters to express all of the experience i had at whiston a and e. This was not for one secound about the wait .The care I received from the a and e staff was short of compassion, care dignaty ,respect ,most things you expect and appreciate when your in emence pain . I was in a and e for 3 days and the only interaction i was asked was how much pain I was in .even when i said 10 nothing was done .only two nurses out of all the nurses helped with my pain and distress . One nurse said to another patient that quote "iam trouble " I was never updated about any aspects of my care and I did not see a doctor for 60 hrs even though i had been taken in with suspected septic arthritis. It is one of the worst experiences of my life and has left me truly traumatised .

Review titled Thank you for everything
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by D I - Posted on 05 December 2022
You saved my baby and you gave me a reason to live! Until the last moment we tried to have it delivered natural but because of complications it had to be through c cection. I know how lucky I am and I'm very happy and grateful that I chose this hospital. The whole team, pre and after birth were amazing. My baby had treatment and I was able to stay beside him. I learned so much from the staff around me, it was like a school for mommy's! Now he is breastfeeding, happy, and everything I know is because of you! Thank you again, may God bless the whole team and see you again in future!

Review titled Lost for words!!
Rated 1 star out of 5

i’m currently sat in the car park whilst my extremely poorly son and panic stricken wife are at the a and e 1 parent per child in the waiting area apparently and i’ve been kicked out. 10 year old son distraught. the board on the wall indicates a 12 hour wait. genuinely appalled. nhs, disgraceful!! ps. this app does not let you use capital letters. they can’t even sort this out.

Review titled excellent experience in endoscopy suite
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Karyn Butler - Posted on 27 November 2022
I visited for a colonoscopy this morning. The staff in endoscopy from start to finish including reception were helpful, caring and extremely professional. The staff who carried out the procedure were kind and reassuring and there was barely any discomfort. Thank you all so much. I have visited Whiston Hospital a few times during the last 12 months for various reasons and believe it must be one of the best hospitals in the country. Best wishes to you all.

Review titled Fantastic team on the ward
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Denise Hayhurst - Posted on 09 December 2022
I was admitted on 30/11 via a&e with a nasty abscess on my foot. Nurses wereo extremely friendly, informative and reassuring at all times. I was due to have an op to clear the abscess but at the last minute it was cancelled as I was responding well to iv antibiotics. I had been nil by mouth for 15 hours and straight away the nurse ran in with a sandwich and a cuppa!! I felt very secure at all times and bloods etc explained to me. I am extremely proud of our hospital and the wonderful staff on 3b
