Review titled Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Claire Black - Posted on 31 August 2023
my mum is on ward 3d. we got told by a consultant my mum only had days/weeks to live and to be prepared for the worse. my mum has been in hospital for 6 weeks and has shown improvement with function coming back into her liver. one question I would like answers for is why we got told the worst ? this had a massive effect on her children and caused emotional stress. the carers on the ward are out of this world and are amazing and don’t get enough credit for what they do day by day … every single one of them carers are absolute angels and deserve so much more pay… they never complain. we owe a lot to them wonderful ladies. my mum has and is in the best care. we just want answers to why we were told mum doesn’t have long to live, and now they are sorting out occupational therapy for my mum to have physio to get her home. It’s an emotional rollercoaster for everyone.

Review titled Fantastic hospital
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by MARK WHITE - Posted on 17 August 2023
This was my first time as a patient at this hospital. The hospital is very clean, friendly and modern. Throughout my stay, from catering staff, nurses, cleaners and doctors? They were all patient friendly, reassuring and came across very happy in the work that they do. I would like to apologise to the NHS and the hospitals for a small percentage that come across rude and ungrateful. I stayed for 3 nights and the level of care and treatment was gold standard. I’m more than sure the high level of care is mirrored throughout the hospital. Thanks.

Review titled Great Practice

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the nurse who dealt with me in A & E and the ENT doctor who preformed a procedure on me the same day. Both where absolutely amazing. At my follow up appointment I saw another amazing nurse, the doctor who performed the procedure and his superior. Once again they all made me feel at ease and guided me through my appointment. I can't thank all the staff I have dealt with over the past few days enough reception staff included. Well done everyone, and thanks again.

Review titled Incredible Phlebotomy staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 July 2023
A huge thank you to the superhero nurses in the Phlebotomy outpatient department. 3 nurses today, 24/7/23 on the 2pm shift helped my husband who was losing consciousness and nearly fainted after a fasting blood test. They ensured he had his privacy and dignity maintained by shutting the door and all of them assisting him so that he did not get injured if he fell. They went above and beyond and remained calm yet on the ball. They even offered him their M&S biscuits to help bring his blood sugar back once he regained consciousness. They were so friendly to me and kept me calm and allowed me to attend to help support him. Big big thank you! We will treasure your kindness! I often get blood tests myself for my health issues and all nurses and always so kind and caring and welcoming. It is evident how hard they work. Please ensure their management and the nurses involved are told:)

Review titled Brilliant staff and very good practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 July 2023
I brought myself to A&E in Whiston yesterday to get checked over. I’m pregnant with my first child (first trimester) and was nervous with being in my early 20s and I also just don’t like hospitals in general. I came in due to severe vomiting and nausea that I’d had for over a week and wanted to get checked over. I hadn’t drank or been able to eat. I was worried about being dehydrated and I was hoping to be given something to ease the sickness. All staff in the department were brilliant. This included the staff I saw at the desk, for triage, my blood test, moving through to another waiting room and the doctor. We were also greeted by two lovely staff members in A&E who were giving out hot drinks to patients. All staff mentioned above were friendly, showed good practice and weren’t judgemental towards me being a young mum to be. My partner / father of the child came with me for support. We were in and out of the hospital in 4 hours, which we thought was very quick. During this time I’d been in triage where normal checks were done, had a blood test, had my blood pressure checked for a second time (due to it being a bit high), 2 urine samples done, seen to by a doctor and collected anti sickness from the pharmacy. We were very happy with our experience. I just wanted to leave a review so that all of the staff can get the recognition they deserve, for their hard work. As a nervous patient, I was definitely put at ease and will be returning to Whiston for the appointments throughout my pregnancy. I was worried about being turned away but all staff took my concerns seriously.

Review titled It is not enough to thank
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Irmak - Posted on 17 August 2023
My father who was a overseas visitor in the uk had a stroke and brought to your hospital by ambulance. He flow back to Turkey after his flight restriction was over which was 4-6 weeks advised by the doctor. Today, his gp in Turkey told him that everything necessary has been done by your hospital and you looked after him very well, he looks great and healthy now. It is not enough to thank stroke team and all others from a & e dept.
