  1. Review titled Efficient, effective, appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 December 2024

We visited the urology department for a 6 month review. Staff were very caring and friendly. Blood pressure taken, weight measured, reviewed with a nurse and had bloods taken, all within 25 minutes which meant parking was free. Blood results received via the Mft app 5 hours later. This is a department that the National Health Service can be proud of.

  4. Review titled Fantastic experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was referred to the Plastics Trauma Surgery Clinic at Withington Community Hospital after sustaining an injury to my hand and I cannot fault the surgical team in any way. Their expertise and knowledge were truly incredible, and they demonstrated exceptional skill throughout my treatment. From the moment I arrived, I was met with unwavering support, particularly as I was feeling quite anxious. Remarkably, the entire process took less than an hour, yet the quality of care was never compromised. The nurses were absolutely fantastic—kind, attentive, and incredibly efficient. They made sure I was comfortable and well-informed at every step, which made a significant difference to my overall experience. Their kindness and genuine care were evident in every interaction, and it's clear that they are deeply dedicated to their patients. The level of professionalism and compassion I encountered is a true credit to the NHS. The Plastics Trauma Surgery Clinic at Withington Community Hospital offers exemplary care, and I am profoundly grateful for the outstanding service I received.

  5. Review titled Podiatry dept is wonderful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by KMe - Posted on 23 May 2024

I’ve always had great experiences at this hospital. Today, the podiatry receptionist was very friendly. The podiatrist was clearly experienced and capable with a wonderful manner, too. The staff at the Hive were also kind and helpful. The hospital is clean and airy. Parking is easy. The staff seem to have a high level of wellbeing and it felt like there is a great culture here. I cannot fault this hospital at all.

I was referred quickly by my GP to Dermatology. Had an appt sent by Withington Hospital within 2 weeks. Received a reminder via the My mft website. Easy to check-in before the appointment. Seen quickly and given comprehensive next steps during my appt. Results letter was online the same day of appt. A really great experience all round!

  7. Review titled 100☆ From me

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Louise - Posted on 11 April 2024

I was so nervous I had to be reminded to breath during my cataract surgery, the team who cared for me were absalutely brilliant, so patient and tolerant because I had one eye under the drape and another looking for the door. My sight has improved already only 4 days post op so that is why I give a 100☆ from me rating as the care and expertise at Withinton General Hospital is excellent. Ex

  8. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Marcelle - Posted on 11 March 2024

The staff is amazing, very attentive and willing to help. I feel very warm there. However, it's been difficult to get my two injections, mtx and cimzia, I have already done the blood tests, however I'm unable to get the injections from the provider, as they say they did not get the prescriptions yet. Are you able to help with this as I'm without them for a couple of weeks now? And even though I have been calling every day, my calls are not been returned. Thank you for all the support.

  10. Review titled Poor, poor, poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jacqueline Farnhill - Posted on 17 January 2024

Been waiting for an appointment for almost 2 years. Received notification that I had a telephone appointment at 10am on Monday 15 January 2024. Waited in all day with my mobile next to me and guess what? Nothing! Not even a cancellation notice. Disgraceful service. Nobody has been in touch. So very disappointed, after waiting so long. Must try harder NHS. If I had a cancellation I would have accepted it, but no, absolutely nothing.

Hi Jacqueline, We are sorry that your appointment did not go ahead, which must have been very frustrating, especially as you waited all day for the call to come and have had such a long wait to receive an appointment. We would like to apologise because this is not the standard of service we aim to offer and patients should be informed if clinics are not going ahead. Please contact the number on your appointment text, if this was included, and we will rebook you as a matter of priority if you have not already had a new appointment. We would like to assure your concerns are being taken seriously, however, it is difficult to investigate your specific concerns without any further detail and patient identification. It is for that reason we would welcome you to make contact directly with the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) to discuss your concerns. If you could contact PALS on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@mft.nhs.uk quoting reference number PO24/00042 they will be able to discuss this with you. As soon as we have further details, we will review what went wrong on this day and provide you with an account of what happened as well as reviewing how to avoid this happening again. Thank you.
