  1. Review titled Outstanding Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa - Posted on 26 September 2024

We welcomed our first grandchild yesterday into the world. The staff were exceptional, the midwife who looked after our daughter was wonderful! The theatre team, doctors, nurses, recovery nurses, literally everyone involved were first class, friendly and caring. It was an exceptional experience for all the family. The postnatal midwife’s and staff are amazing and supporting our daughter, a first time mom with her baby after C section. Our experience of Maternity care at Worcester has been the very best and we couldn’t ask for more. The maternity unit is at its busiest time in September, yet we were all given the time and space to enjoy this wonderful day. Well done to everyone involved yesterday you should all be very proud of the role you have in our lives. Huge respect and thanks from all of us to the ‘Miracle Makers’ A million stars is not enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  2. Review titled Grateful Thanks

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was taken to this department from Hereford County Hospital A and E after receiving IV antibiotics for an infected tooth . The infection was spreading and sepsis was a concern. The offending tooth was removed, not without a great deal of effort and care on their part and I returned home later that day. All of the staff I encountered during my short stay were excellent and I cannot thank them enough !

  3. Review titled Excellent Cardio Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David Stanier Timmins - Posted on 05 August 2024

I was given coronary angio plasty the day after seeing the Cardio doctor for results after tests. He was excellent at explaining the procedure and at carrying it out. I would like to thank him and the staff in the cardiac catheter suit for great treatment and aftercare. All were very kind. Couldn't recommend them enough.

  4. Review titled 10/10 Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Olivia Nightingale - Posted on 12 October 2024

My maternity experience at Worcester hospital was in my opinion outstanding. I was continuously checked on and waited on by staff and midwives. From when I was admitted onto antenatal every single midwife was amazing and friendly and put me at ease. My midwives during my delivery were also some of the kindest women and helped me every second I needed it! Postnatal my little boy was poorly and I felt so safe with him with the doctors as they explained everything to me and did a number of different checks - they refused to send him home until they were 100% sure he was ok! Post natal I was put on neo natal and again, I felt as though I had 5 star treatment. I was looked after beyond my needs, when my little boy wouldn’t settle a midwife took him off me and cuddled him for few hours so I could sleep. I see so much negative press about maternity care in theUK at the moment so I felt it was important to give my amazing experience at Worcester. Thankyou :)

  5. Review titled Very disappointed and left feeling unsure and worried

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Hayley Thompson - Posted on 31 July 2024

Have been attending Worcester for fortnightly scans for my twin pregnancy due to them being high risk. I am constantly having to chase up my appointments because they are simply not booked even though I’m assured after each appointment they will be. Following a scan yesterday I’ve been told I need to see fetal medicine and I’d have an appointment for this Thursday. Again nothing has been booked and I am the one who is having to spend my entire day chasing this up. every time I call I’m told call back call back. I was even told to call back Monday which unless I don’t understand time is after Thursday so how does that work.

  6. Review titled Well looked after

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Andrew Racey - Posted on 04 May 2024

My wife was rushed into A and E by ambulance crew. Straight in although into the corridor. Triaged within minutes,, had to wait a couple of hours to see a doctor ( clearly a shortage ) however his consultation was excellent. Fully explained results of blood tests etc and given a brief diagnosis. Further drugs before discharge. Nursing staff all very nice. Super new department, thank you

Was referred due to lump on neck, seen by Xray department, and ultrasound. All staff were 100% Fantastic and caring, and I was treated with respect. The outcome to my visit of this hospital and Redditch Hospital ,and local GP practice was great news and a relief to me and my family.

  9. Review titled Wonderful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 April 2024

I have been thouroughly impressed by the professionalism and the care from all the staff. We all come to A&E anxious and in pain but everyone, it was the first time for me using this service so I was very anxious. However, the receptionnists, all the nurses and the doctors have been fabulous. Their constant smiles and warmth made me feel more at ease, espcially given the fact that I came in the evening and they must have been very tired. I can't thank them enough.

  10. Review titled Awful Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by John Rochester - Posted on 25 March 2024

Our 3 year old was brought into the children's accident and emergency at 12.30am with a temperature of 34.2°C and a low blood sugar level by an ambulance crew, who were superb, but that's where the positive experience ended. We initially had his observations taken and told to wait in reception without being given any real information about how serious his condition was. We had one observation at approx 2.30am where he had improved but then no other checks until 5:40am in the morning after it was requested by us. Which resulted in two nurses checking his temp in quick succesion. One of the nurses who did one of the checks in the morning remarked how his temperature had dropped a bit since the last observation which was good news. We had to tell her he was brought in for a low temperature, so it getting lower was bad news. She replied "oh he's in for a low temperature, I didn't know that" Our son got hungry during the night and the vending machines didn't work, so I asked at reception and she said there was a bowl of biscuits in reception for the kids which was empty and hadn't bothered to be replenished, which to be fair they did replenish after id spoken to them. During the the 6 hour wait, apart from the one observation we did not get asked once how our son was or where we were in the queue or even offered extra blankets through the night and nurses had walked passed us multiple times. I did initially think they must just be quite busy, but once we finally did get seen by a doctor at 6.45am we witnessed all the nurses huddled around the main desk nattering away with each other and us overhearing a nurse asking another nurse if she'd done an observation and her saying how she'd forgotten to do the observation and she was glad that the other nurse had reminded her. Then finally the doctor told us they didn't have the medication in stock and wrote us a prescription which our pharmacy said was written wrong, although they'd did give us a prescription we were told to speak to our GP because of the discrepancy and to make sure the course of treatment was the right amount. I understand these nurses must deal with a lot, but leaving a 3 year old in a reception area for 6 hours during the night without just popping out every hour or so just to see if we needed anything or just to tell us what number we are in the queue is unacceptable to us. The nurses just seemed to be doing the minimum required to get them through their shift. By 6.30 in the morning I'd had enough and I told the nurse unless he gets seen soon we were considering taking him home because he needed breakfast and a bed and a waiting room wasn't the place for a toddler to be for that amount of time. Within half hour we were seen by the doctor. My brother had the polar opposite experience at Warwick hospital with his son, where he said they were amazing and couldn't do enough for them, so this just isn't the way it is everywhere.
