Review titled As Good as it gets
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 February 2025
My cataract treatment from start to completion was beyond reproach in every way. Tests, in the nhs unit in The Quedam in Yeovil, was quick, staff were informative, attentive & un rushed. The operation in the new unit at ygh was equally professional from start to finish. I was attended by staff who explained both the procedure & recommendations for all after care. The operation was quick, painless & the result is certainly beyond my expectations. All staff were friendly, helpful & considerate. My grateful Thanks to all.

Review titled A and E fail.
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Peter - Posted on 28 January 2025
My partner with cancer treated very well by oncology but cancer help line sends us to A and E. Just been today and sat in isolation cell after triage. Urgent care was reason, requested by oncology consultant. After three hours we had to leave, untreated for her urgent problem.Cost £10 in car park, ouch. 20 mile round trip for nothing but a very distressed wife. Again A and E does not interact well with mental health nor does entirely recognise the effect on mental health patients of being stuck in isolation for three hours with a cancer related issue of urgent care. Due to mental trauma induced, we had to leave with the urgent medical condition untreated. We informed the staff on leaving and they wanted a form signed which seemed to blame us for the lack of care provided. We refused to sign.We went home to bed and hoped to find treatment tomorrow.

I attended Yesterday. I was told it would be fine. I was kept informed all the way through the 1.5 hours I was there. some form filling and changing etc. then I was bernaeth spoke, very helpful and friendly and assured me. a few mins later they took me through, I declined the sedation and was offer gas and air. I didnt need that either, the team were so supportive and friendly and made me laugh, before I knew it the scope was was inside and then out, 5 mins. all clear and nothing to worry about. Im 70 and lost 2 sister to bowel cancer, so this was wonderful. The team who did this test relaxed me, made me laugh and let me watch it on screen, there was no pain, very very little discomfort and then all done and i was on the way home, Imentioned tea and was offered a cup of tea. the team was fantastic. thank you.

Review titled Second to none
Rated 5 stars out of 5

All the way through Accident & Emergency, Trauma and Orthopaedics, X-ray and Ward 7b upcoming procedures were clearly and patiently explained. Doctors and nurses offered true pastoral as well as surgical/medical expertese which made the whole patient experience was so much more relaxed than I had expected. Aftercare has been first rate and I am sure will continue to be so too. Thank you to the many members of staff that took an interest in me and looked after me so well.

Review titled Fantastic

I was seen in A&E on Sunday pm. I was treated with kindness and politeness from the word go. Seen by 3 doctors including an F1 and a consultant my treatment was exemplary. Can't thank them enough for their good humour, their professionalism and kindness. I don't intend to return any time soon but certainly not because if their treatment. In a time when everyone seems to be knocking the nhs, I'd like to give them a huge thank you, they were brilliant.

Review titled Awful gynecologist
Rated 1 star out of 5

Cold, arrogant, rude, impatient, brutal ! She put the speculum in with brutality as the full exam and does everything she can to make you feel guilty to be there. The nurses were wonderful and I feel sorry for them to have to work with this horrible doctor.

Review titled Mental Health Care
by peter - Posted on 24 August 2024
Our surgery failed to provide mental health care for my partner for whom I am Carer. We were told to go away and attend Yeovil A &E. My partner hss had no NHS setvice for three days of mental torture. She needs quiet places and no music, they could not provide this, so we sat in the rain. Mental Health is broken in the South West and we are being minced by it. Her contact with the local service was abusive and useless.
