  1. Review titled Awful treatment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Arrived in a&e via ambulance and was expected to wait in the waiting room even though showing signs of a cardiac event . Finally put in a bay and monitored but then moved from the bay almost forcefully whilst vomiting by a very abrupt nurse . Was finally given a temporary bed in a&e after waiting on a chair for 6 hours after being told of a potential blood clot on the lung . Was told no beds available in the whole hospital.. staff seem to be trying to do their best under extremely shambolic circumstances.

  2. Review titled Friendly and helpful staff, but no beds

Rated 1 star out of 5

I reported to a&e at about 7.00pm on the advice of my podiatrist. I was kept in my wheelchair for over seven hours before being given a ben in a corridor. Twelve hours after that I was moved up to the reception space of the f.a.u. adjacent to ward 6b. While I was offered sandwiches I was not provided a meal for more than 20 hours after being admitted. Further a doctor did not explain what they thought was wrong and what they planned to do until then second day of my stay.

  3. Review titled Professional, supportive care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My husband was taken to Yeovil A & E after a cardiac incident. We arrived by ambulance around 3am and were placed in a private bay in that department. Over the next 7 hours, nurses and doctors worked and communicated efficiently, explaining what they were doing, what tests were being run, what we were waiting for and checking on his condition frequently. Their care extended to offering us coffee or tea and later, breakfast. The information put us at ease during a frightening time and their kindness was soothing. After receiving an “all clear”, we were encouraged to return if symptoms reoccurred.

  4. Review titled 12.5 hour wait before treatment

Waited twelve and a half hours before being treated for a potentially life threatening condition after being referred there by my GP. Totally unacceptable.

I had to have a colonoscopy and I need to convey how amazing the staff are. Everyone was so caring and made me feel at ease through the whole procedure. Thank you.

Left in A&E for 4 hours in absolute agony with only some paracetamol which I told them paracetamol wasn't having only effect on the pain when I was having my triage.

  7. Review titled Wonderful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’m a student paramedic and went to pick up a ICU patient for a transfer to another hospital. Having never been to Yeovil hospital before I had no idea what it was like. I’ve never met such wonderful staff, all of the staff on the patients ward knew their name and individually said goodbye. It was so nice to see how caring everyone on the ward was.

  8. Review titled Brilliant A&E Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended Yeovil A&E and cannot fault the service received. I was seen quickly, treated with kindness and politeness at all times. The staff were exceptional and overall made a stressful and frightening experience as good as it could be.

  9. Review titled Cannula left in situ

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Phillips Rob - Posted on 05 April 2024

Having spent a fruitless 7 hours in Yeovil ACU today (referred for a liver scan by GPs but not given one) my 90 year old dementia cancer and Af diagnosed mother was sent home to my care with a cannula still in her arm. Noted when we got home and I went to GPs to get it removed.

  10. Review titled AEC - designed to be worse than A and E (but better metrics)

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Phillips Rob - Posted on 05 April 2024

Currently sitting in ACE having had my 90’year old mother referred here via our excellent GPs for an urgent liver scan as bloods and skin colour indicate severe liver failure. Triage happened and as she is deemed stable we are now in our 3 rd hour with no updates unless I dare to approach a very tetchy nurse. Apparently not awaiting a liver scan as advised by GPs but awaiting a consultant when one is free. She’s AF, severe dementia, breast cancer and I can’t even leave her to get her some food. ACE is clearly a weak and lazy way to get A&E quiet.
