Visited A&E on busy Saturday pm late 2023. Polite and helpful staff and very quick. Excellent service. Went for xray today, told my husband I wld be 2 hours. Out in 10 minutes, despite full waiting area. Again most courteous and helpful staff and put you at ease. What a shining beacon yr hospital is. You should be proud.

  2. Review titled Amazing!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We had a stay in Ward 10 and the care was amazing. I felt listened too for the first time after lots of visits to the GP. All my concerns were taken into account and I finally felt like I was being helped and supported. All of the nurses were exceptional, no question was too much to ask and they were always there to help. I could not fault the ward in any way at all. You are all amazing Thankyou!

  3. Review titled A week in ICU

An acute chest infection and a heart attack nearly knocked me off my perch but the outstanding team in the ICU showed great care, professionalism, humanity and compromise in getting me back on my feet - I must say supported by superb technology and processes. Thank you one and all.

Appointment was on time. The surgeons were very pleasant and explained everything clearly and didn't feel rushed at all.

  5. Review titled Sufficient, friendly and caring.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Meredith - Posted on 27 January 2024

I attended accident and emergency in Friday morning and was seen by a physician associate within 3 and a half hours. Despite the department being extremely busy with no spare seats at all. The physician associate was fantastic and very thorough. I then had an MRI scan within 4.5 hours of being in accident and emergency. Again, very impressive as I know these are hard to come by; especially in an extremely busy hospital. All the staff were professional, caring, attentive and friendly. I was then seen by the orthopaedic team and registrar who were extremely thorough, ensuring they checked with experts at another hospital before my discharge. Whilst the whole experience was scary for me and overwhelming, I couldn’t fault the staff who were clearly very stretched that day but ensured things were done thoroughly which puts patients minds at rest when they’re at their most vulnerable state. Thankyou to all the staff in Yeovil for all the hard work you do. From accident and emergency staff, to the radiology team.

  6. Review titled Exemplary show of kindness

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lucy - Posted on 17 January 2024

My father was brought to A&E on Monday 8th Jan 24 with breathing difficulties following lung surgery at a different hospital before Christmas. He was cared for in A&E, the EAU and ward 9a before he died on Friday 12th Jan. The kindness and care shown by every member of staff at Yeovil was outstanding. The nurses, doctors, consultants, cleaners, porters and canteen staff were, to a person, attentive, patient, considerate and most importantly kind. Not just to our dad but to all the patients we saw them interact with. My sister and I commented on it at the time - it felt like a real culture of kindness and respect exists throughout the hospital. We never felt rushed, our father was listened to, his wishes were respected, and we were given the time and space we need to be with him. He was treated with dignity throughout and made as comfortable as anyone could possibly manage. We were fully informed at all times about what was happening and as a result were able to ensure the right people made it in time to see him before he died. Thank you to all concerned for making a truly horrible situation as bearable as it could have been.

  7. Review titled Poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

Very bad and unprofessional staff, waiting time very high. Booked at 12:30 and waited until 5:30 and not been treated as I should. They are occupied with those that come with the police handcuffed.

  8. Review titled Impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After a motorcycle accident I was treated promptly and with respect by all members of staff. I am not an easy patient since I have a number of allergies and am cautious about taking many pharmaceuticals following adverse effects. I found all the staff to be understanding and kind in spite of my fringe views.

  9. Review titled Amazing journey to recovery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Beverley de Bruyn - Posted on 09 November 2023

I was taken to Ambulance & Emergency on Wednesday 1st November with dizziness, weakness, nausea. Thereafter I was admitted to Emergency Admission Unit & then to Acute Cardio Care Unit. My medical problem was quickly identified, explained to me and possible solutions presented in order for me to make an informed decision on my own health. The Nurses, HCAs and Consultants at YDH are super amazing, cheerful, caring, hardworking & knowledgeable. Each person went the extra mile! At every process of the way through to and beyond surgery, I knew I was in very capable hands! And also going forward a plan for was put in place for follow ups which gave me even further reassurance. Thank you!

  10. Review titled Outstanding care received

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Melissa - Posted on 15 October 2023

Myself and my daughter were recently involved in a car accident. Paramedics and Police attended the scene, where we were taken to Yeovil Hospital. From the minute we arrived in A&E the Doctor's and Nurses were amazing. My daughter is young, she was frightened, scared and worried about me but the nurses took very good care of her. They checked her over, checked injuries on her and cleaned them up. My daughter was offered lunch and the same nurse sat and spoke to her about the accident and what was wrong with me, and what would be happening to me next. The Nurses calmed my daughter down, cheered her up and soon had her laughing and joking with them. This was a huge relief to me, as I couldn't move to see my daughter, only hear what was going on around me. The care I had was very fast and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the team. I can't thank them all enough for helping me and my daughter like they did! You're all a real credit to the department, and to the hospital. Thank you all so very much!
