    Everyone at the clinic was very good, in particular the surgeon who carried out my surgery and made me feel very comfortable. I would be happy to recommend the clinic to anyone needing similar surgery.

    The surgeon did not greet me by name, he did not speak during the procedure and when it was over he walked out of the room without a word and the nurses told me I could sit up. The nurse who put drops in my eyes seemed unsure of the procedure and at one point I jumped involuntarily as I felt tiny pain in my eye and I suffered acute pain for two days afterwards and for two weeks more great discomfort. I was then prescribed a soothing eye drop Hylofortt as well as Maxitrol and things improved. a poor experience.

    After months of trying to book an appointment (after being given prescription eye drops), managed to get this, then a follow up appointment via on-line chat was required. What an impersonal, unhelpful and awful experience that was. Plus months to wait for a an appointment date too!

    At the beginning of Dec I was given steroid drops for my eye condition. At the end of Dec I had a telephone follow up to see whether these had worked. They had not, so I was told I needed a face to face appointment for a re -examination. Despite the seriousness of my eye condition I was not given an appointment til the end of Jan. However, the day before I was told the Dr needed to work from home and could do a telephone appointment - having explained my situation I was given a new appointment in Feb. However, I have now been rung up again and told the Dr won't be at New cross again and he can do a telephone appointment. I have no idea how my eyes are to be examined over the phone? This is a practice that is constantly 'busy' but not delivering outcomes for patients, well, certainly not me.

    After a referral from my optician, I was very quickly given an assessment appointment via a text message with a selection of dates. The assessment consultant had a rather abrupt, distant manner at first but eventually made eye contact and became more approachable. Incredibly, I was then offered an appointment for the following day, with a choice of morning or afternoon at the Stoke clinic. The whole procedure was then caring and efficient from start to finish. It is 2 days since my cataract removal from my left eye and I have suffered no discomfort since arriving home and subsequently. If I need to have another operation, I would have no hesitation in attending this clinic & would hope to be in the care of the same surgeon.

    I had an appointment at CHEC in January 2023. From there I was referred as an urgent case to the eye clinic at UCHW and was told that I would receive an appointment within a month. It is now three months later and I have not received an appointment; I have chased this up several times with CHEC. I have tried ringing today but was put through to voicemail, but the inbox is full !! This really isn't good enough. My annual retinopathy screening for type 1 diabetes is now overdue but I can't attend as the drops used to dilate my pupils will affect the procedure (laser treatment) that CHEC has referred me for.
