    I had my first cataract operation in March and found the staff excellent - I was nervous and they supported throughout from initial assessment to aftercare - definitely recommend for anyone requiring eye surgery - my next one is booked for the 22nd of May and I'm looking forward to being able to see Thank you

    I was referred by my optician for further treatment, since found out through CHEC, and getting any information, support, help or anybody willing to help is a real challenge. This organisation is woefully difficult to deal with, they do not discuss what is happening direct with you, and trying to sort anything out is beyond them, so far. I ended up being referred into a Health Trust 30 miles away from a local trust 7 miles away with no discussion. Not clear what would happen in the appointment, so do I drive or not? To attend the appointment is some 2 hours, 45 minutes each way by bus (ignoring any waiting for connections). Trying to have just this conversation before discussing any treatment, or not, then also becomes impossible. Come on NHS, there must be a better way.

    Was initially pleased at the speed of getting an appointment to have my single foggy cataract Lasered and cleared. However left confused and perplexed by contradictory information. Leaflet provided says you should not drive to appointment and not to drive for 1 to 2 hours after surgery. Location not easy to get to so wanted to drive while acknowledging the limitations and need for a time after surgery. Only one eye being treated and other eye has very good vision. Never expected to be totally confused and receive contradictory and unclear info. When trying to clarify told on phone not to drive for 2 weeks ....then not for 1 to 2 days . You really need to modify your information and ensure call handlers have accurate information to answer calls

    Everyone is friendly and put me at ease because I was nervous even though this was my second cataract surgery to be done. Everyone is just lovely, everything was efficient, the surgeon was very gentle.

    After being referred to CHEC in November 2022, I received an appointment in March 2023. On arrival I was informed that YAG laser treatment was not suitable for my eye condition and I would be referred to a hospital. In May I discovered that this referral had not been made. It was subsequently made only for me to be informed that the waiting time was six months. As a result I paid for a private consultation and received YAG laser treatment at a cost to myself. I emailed CHEC on July 4th asking for an explanation and have not yet received a reply despite following up the email with two phone calls. Myself, my optician and the consultant I visited are all interested as to why I could not have had the procedure in March at no cost to me.

    I visited the practice for a consultation, and was told the procedure would definitely take place , on the date of the procedure i was told i was being referred to a hospital, surley at the initial consultation they could have told me the procedure could not be taken due to complications that the practice was already aware ,the Company wasted their own time as well as mine . I was referred to another hospital and have again been put on the waiting list, very bad communications between the Opticians and surgeon
