Review titled Terrible - unable to speak to anyone at the practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 December 2024
Periodically for 2 weeks I have rung and re-rung Hilly Fields Medical Centre, Lewisham. The generic Lewisham Care Partnership prerecorded message does not work. Option 2 or 4 to speak to someone ends with "we are not able to connect you at this time, please try later." I am tech savvy but even with the NHS and patient access there seems to be no way of booking an appointment in the future. There is also zero information about when the appointments become available and when is a good time to book. I really want to leave this practice but reviews of all others in this area are also awful. How on earth do elderly people or anyone who is not tech savvy deal with this appalling system? Now this portal is editing my comments as it says I'm complaining about too many things....

I had the pleasure of meeting with this lady this morning to go over a few details and paper work which I found hard to process as I suffer with mental health. She made my whole experience comfortable and made me feel at ease. She's very kind patient and professional. Thank you.

Review titled Help with smartphone etc.

I have tried to write a review, but the system has prevented me from doing so. It objects to using words all in capital letters, but I have not left in my review any such words. The system also seems far too easy to lose a revew due to the false capital letter claim.

Review titled Honor Oak Group Practice was fantastic
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 September 2024
My GP surgery was fantastic until the tlcp (the Lewisham care partnership) merger occurred a few years ago. Since then it’s been on a precipitous decline. The management is useless. Making terrible decisions repeatedly over years. Trying to run 5 GP practices as one is simply a terrible idea. You want to have a GP (or two) who you know and understands your history. Instead now — if you’re lucky enough to get an appointment — it might be at any one of the 5. Even worse, they sometimes don’t tell you it’s going to be at one of the 4 that aren’t your ‘usual’ one. For many years now the telephone service has been in some level of being broken. Either turned on and not working or simply disabled. Before the merger you could reliably call up and get an appointment same day if needed. Long gone are those days. The collapse in patient care and quality of service started with the merger and it seems they’ve never managed to recover. What was once a fantastic GP surgery that was part of the community, is now a shadow of its former self. My recent experience where I was given an appointment but not told where it was is particular example of how poorly run this group of practices now is.

Review titled uncontactable
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have just tried to contact the Lewisham Care partnership. Lets just say its not been a success (yet again). A little background - On the 31st May my doctor recommended I start using a drug to lower my cholesterol but with the instruction to take a blood test after a month and then see her again. That would have been around the 1st week July. We all know about the hacking attack in early June and why blood tests were postponed but that was six weeks ago and there are still no blood test appointments. My initial prescription is now running out so I wanted advice on whether to re-order or what other action to follow - and when blood tests would resume. So I called my surgery... Welcome to the worst voice message system I have ever heard - has Anyone from the Practice Management ever tried to use it or listen to it? The end result is that for my enquiry there is no route to get an answer. So I tried on line - same mess and un-useability, Again I could see no way to ask My question, oh, and the online system does not allow messages to my practice. Please can you do something to allow the people who pay for you to actually communicate with you. Everything I see and hear when trying to get in touch with you seems designed to make that as difficult as possible and its getting worse not better.

Review titled Pain-free procedure delivered in a caring way
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah Coffey - Posted on 18 March 2024
I recently visited the surgery for a smear test and the nurse was so calm, reassuring and attentive that it made the experience wholly positive. One of the things I appreciated most, was once I was lying down she told me that "from now on you are in charge" it gave me full control and meant I wasn't afraid to say if I experienced any pain. Thankfully, due to her calm manner and expertise, it was totally pain-free.

Review titled contact details
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Nicole Webb - Posted on 27 March 2024
As a health care professional, it is almost impossible to get in touch. I am a clinical lead nurse for a patient who is registered with you Both him and I have tried to contact you via phone. We have both been on the phone for more than hour each time. It would be much easier for you have an email address to access. This gentleman requires equipment and has been unable to contact you to request it. I have also have been unable to request anything this gentleman had complex needs and has no way of ordering or obtaining his equipment.

Review titled No appointments as no doctors
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 February 2024
I tried to get an appointment with a doctor at Hillyfields medical centre last Friday, 9th February. My husband went round to the surgery at 8am as getting through on the phone is impossible. He was told there were no face to face appointments at all as they had no doctors. There was only a phone appointment with a locem doctor at another surgery who would have no knowledge of my condition, reading notes is not the same as continuity. I declined this kind of appointment and tried again today, 12th February. There were about 10 people waiting and the receptionist came out and said no point in waiting as there were no appointments as once again they had no doctors. What is going on, how can you have a surgery with no doctors at all. Why open? Patient will start going to A & E instead for simple ailments as there is nowhere else to go. This is really a terrible situation and needs sorting out as soon as possible before somebody dies due to a condition not being picked up early.

Review titled Gone down hill
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2023
The formation of The Lewisham Care Partnership has been a death sentence for the individual GP practices in the area. Obtaining vital medication is a constant issue which was never the case before the practices were incorporated. This is a major problem for anyone with long term health conditions and disabilities and occurs almost every time prescriptions are needed. Patient consent is not obtained prior to signing patients up to commercial company schemes. Appointments are rarely face to face. Not good enough at all.
