Terrible experience! Contacted them as soon as I had a positive test was around 5/6 weeks gestation, Took them two weeks to decide if they could treat me or not, they gave me an -appointment for the 17/04 then cancelled it 3 days before saying the can’t actually treat me and I would have to be referred to a hospital, now the hospital can’t see me for a pre assessment until the 15/05 I wanted to have the medical termination but now I can’t because the delay In my care! So upsetting to make this decision then to be left for weeks allowing the pregnancy to progress is just so heartbreaking! Nobody wants to help msi certainky didn’t care about the timings avoid and go somewhere else if you do find yourself in this heartbreaking situation.

I’m surprised with the reviews on here because I can honestly say I had an amazing experience. Although there is a 48 hr wait for an initial phone call, I was lucky enough to get my next appointments in a week later. I had my termination medication via post which arrived the next day. Every nurse I spoke to was very understanding and helpful, down to the aftercare team who answered my worries and talked everything through. Everyone was very supportive and helpful and I wish I could thank them all!

From the first assessment through to the appointment at the clinic, my initial impression was very good. I was treated with kindness and most of all I really didn’t feel judged. Everything was explained to me in a way in which I understood and whilst having a termination is a very hard experience, I felt well support. Until I had to call MSI Reproductive Choices Aftercare Team. I queried a symptom I was experiencing that could indicate infection, all I was told was just to contact my GP the next morning as it was my GP that more deals with that sort of thing. Then was told she couldn’t even access my medical records. I was on the phone for a total of two minutes. I felt very rushed off of the phone. Considering it’s a symptom listed in their own information to call the Aftercare Line if you experience this, I don’t understand why I’ve just been passed on to another service. I am not sure this is good advice to give someone with a history of sepsis. I think it’s very confusing to have this sort of service and not provide adequate aftercare. I would not recommend based on this reason.

I have never received such appalling treatment from so called professionals. I'm glad I've never had need of the services before now and pray I never have need again. They don't care about mental health in the slightest and for what they put you through I'd almost think they enjoyed causing people trauma and anguish. They need to consider that they can be dealing with vulnerable people at one of the worst times of their lives. Just pay privately to get it done, they'll at least respect you.

I had an appointment booked for 16/03 for a termination, they rang me the same morning & cancelled due to staffing. I had already arranged childcare & had to pay for this. After building myself up for the appointment as it’s a lot to deal with they rebooked it for 23/03, I then got a text the morning of my appointment again, to say it’s yet again been cancelled!!! That’s another childcare fee I need to pay, another knock on my mental health, another set back as I’d built myself up for this. It’s a painful experience and they’ve made it 100x worse!!!! They send me a text of a rebooked appointment for a weekend and in a clinic that’s 1hour&30 minutes away. When I got in touch I was only 5 weeks pregnant now I am over 9!! Horrendous and certainly wouldn’t Recommend as they mess you around!!!

I would not recommend MSI and especially not this branch. I've had a horrible experience with them from the beginning. I wanted a medical termination for medical/health reasons and they have blocked it due to the health questionnaire not going through. That is fair enough, but they told me I have to come in and if all goes well after it's reviewed with a medical professional, I might still be able to get the medicine. The wait time for this appointment would have put this on the last day you can have a medical termination (9w6d). After coming to the practice for an appointment, there was no mention of the health questionnaire, the nurse did not do any of the tests I've been told will be done and even though I explained what I have been told, there was no chance of receiving treatment and I was told to book an appointment for surgical termination outside. This having been the last day, I had no choice to pursue help elsewhere. When I went to book the surgical appointment (which happens in the reception, after you're seen by a nurse), the earliest appointment offered to me was 3 weeks later (!!!). Legally, they have to give you an appointment within 2 weeks and whilst they have offered me one it was 14 days later and 76 miles away. Having pursued a termination for health reasons, the thought of being 'forced' through 3 more weeks was unbearable. I understand the service is busy, but if you can't fulfil your obligations and give proper care to people - turn them away so they can seek help at another service! Do not give them hope just to then delay the whole process by 5 weeks from start to finish. Because of all this, I eventually decided not to go ahead with them as I had very little trust especially considering my medical history was not reviewed in a way I was told. As I haven't done the procedure itself, I can't comment on that but I would be vary and book an appointment with other providers at least as a back up if not anything else.

I was referred by my GP as I am perimenopausal and was considering Mirena coil as an option. Made this clear during initial phone call and was booked in for an initial phone consult. The first appointment didn’t take place within the allotted time so I had to rebook. Another two weeks later when the call happened I was told MSI Choices do not deal with ‘women going through the change’. I was quite shocked that the euphemistic phrase ‘the change’ was used by a healthcare professional. I thought we’d moved on. The individual concerned had the best intentions I’m sure but I would have expected better from a service specialising in women’s reproductive health and am left feeling that I have had bad advice from my GP and from the initial interaction with MSI. This experience reinforces my fears and frustration about the failings in how women specific health is handled in this country when I had engaged proactively and in good faith. Please try to do better and understand that women do not cease to be women when their reproductive function diminishes or ceases. Overall, then, the current increase in discussion of the menopause clearly is not going far enough.

The nurse on the phone was so nice especially and got me the treatment I need as soon as she could . I had the treatment at home with my partner where he could comfort me and I could rest in my own house .

I honestly could not fault anything from my first appointment to my treatment. Every single member of staff treated me so well and made me feel so relaxed as I was so nervous at first. The surgeon and nurses were all so friendly and so kind to and really did look after me. I honestly can't thank them all enough for there tome patience and all round professionalism

I'll start by saying that the wait times on the general phone lines are far too long, though I understand staff levels and busy periods can effect this However, the nurses I met in clinic were absolutely lovely, very friendly and caring. I also had to call the 24hour aftercare line and not only was able to talk to someone straight away, but the 2 nurses I spoke to during the night were absolute angels, they helped me through one of the most horrible experiences of my life and were so kind and reassuring. They also called me back to check up on me after. If it wasn't for them I would have probably ended up calling 999 so I am so grateful for their help
