Review titled Great Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kenneth Graham Wilkinson - Posted on 02 April 2025
I experienced an excellent and very prompt response to my health query. The staff members I spoke with were helpful and reassuring and organised my appointment with the Opthalmology team at Doncaster Royal Infirmary without delay, and I was seen and treated the same day. The primary eyecare service is a fine example of our treasured NHS.

Review titled Helpful and friendly
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Colin Masson - Posted on 11 April 2025
The lady to whom I spoke was genuinely concerned about my wellbeing and proceeded to go through analysis of my symptoms in a very thorough manner before explaining the process of finding the right place to be examined and also what steps to take to ameliorate my symptoms in the meantime.

Review titled Great care and attention

Spoke with 3 optometrists on 3 separate occasions. They were all very good at understanding my problem, explaining clearly, offering advice and support and encouragement. They were thorough in questioning to find out the problem with my eyes, and offered a plan of action to help relieve the situation - followed up with text of the advice given. All 3 were very friendly and easy to talk with.

Review titled Trying to even get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 August 2024
Had a worrying visual migrain ( I think ) as I have so far tried 3 different practices on the Web page without success of even managing to get an appointment. I was offered one for September- but if it happened again to go straight to A &E - sorry, this service is not fit for purpose

Review titled Contact Lens Wearers Excluded
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Laura K - Posted on 25 June 2024
I rang my GP due to having an ulcer on my eyeball. They sent me a link to the primary eye care website with a list of opticians who I can see. 1 wasn't working that day, 2 didn't answer and the other 2 in my area refused to see me under the NHS because I wear contact lenses and told me to contact my lens provider for a private appointment. Why aren't contact lens wearers eligible for NHS services? My doctors have confirmed we are and have ended up arranging a GP appointment instead - which negates the purpose of this service!
