Review titled Slow service, serve who they choose
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 May 2023
I stood patiently in the queue of 4 people, which took over 10 minutes. While the lady in front of me was being served, a man sauntered up to the counter and spoke directly to the pharmacist, who proceeded to serve him. The cashier then served him, ignoring the rest of us in the queue. When questioned over the fact there was a queue, the man turned abusive. The pharmacist just said "it's for something else" and walked away. I needed to talk to the pharmacist, I waited patiently, yet he allowed this to happen, didn't apologise, didn't make the man aware of the queue. He then ignored it all and went to talk to someone else. I needed to speak to him about a possible medication for my mother, who has recently had a knee replacement operation and needed help over the weekend. The cashier is really slow and disinterested. All in all, terrible service.

Review titled Bullied into not seeing the pharmacist
Rated 1 star out of 5

Went to tesco pharmacy as my 3 year old was prescribed an antibiotic which he was taking for a throat infection (this had been collected from a different pharmacy the day before), we were then prescribed a different antibiotic so went to tesco pharmacy to get it. Just before heading to the pharmacy my son started coming up with some spots all over his body so I thought I'd ask the pharmacist for advice on what to do. I waited in the queue for about 10 minutes and when it was my turn I asked to speak with the pharmacist and I was told that it was too busy and there was only one pharmacist in there and she couldn't pull the pharmacist out as it would delay everyone else's prescription. I told this lady it only be a minute to show the pharmacist the rash and she then rudely told me: "if you want to see the pharmacist you will have to wait at least 45 minutes until everyone else in the queue gets served", I find it unbelievable that we are encouraged to see pharmacists before clogging up A&E's and GP's but then we get this kind of treatment. As if this was not enough, I asked the lady to just dispense my prescription for my son since I couldn't see the pharmacist, she told me I'd have to wait between 15-20 minutes, I agreed and waited on the side, in the meantime the two customers after me which also had prescriptions to be dispensed got theirs before me, I asked why that was and she told me it was because my prescription was an antibiotic that had to be mixed with water. Absolutely terrible experience.

A pharmacist was rude, condescending and was belittle patients in front of customers. The pharmacist on the day asked my girlfriend personal questions about her condition that they did not need to know in order to give her medication. It was no relevance to whether they could give her the tablets she asked for.

I've been on medication for a week. suffers from acute renal failure and high blood pressure. I informed the staff that I had no more medication. I was ignored and told to wait. every pharmacist knows that in my case it is very dangerous to miss one tablet.

Review titled Wait times

I put a prescription in on Wednesday 22nd March 2023 into Tesco extra broadstairs pharmacy. I have attempted to collect 4 times since then and each time I am told it is a 50 min wait. I work for civil service and do shift work therefore I do not have time to wait for 50 mins. Each time I have asked them to have it ready for the next day and the staffing levels are so low that there is a queue of 30 minutes and then to be told it will be another 30 minutes until ready is a joke. I am in desperate need of my antibiotics and it seems impossible to get them. Please advise. I will not be using Tesco pharmacy ever again.
