Review titled Ridiculous customer service and bad practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jack - Posted on 07 June 2023
I came from work to collect a prescription for my partner and arrived at 18:40 (pharmacy doesn’t close until 20:00) after standing in a queue of a grand total of 3 people for around 20 minutes the person behind the reception decided to say no more prescriptions. After questioning why when the store is open until 20:00 the person said it is to busy, when questioning and saying that the order was sent in early in the day by the doctor the reply was “we make prescriptions now when people arrive”. So it is mind boggling that if 100 people get a prescription sent over early on in the day whilst working, the staff behind the counter stand and twiddle thumbs until the 100 people turn up then decide to make the prescriptions I find this absolutely ludicrous practice and a waste of funding by the NHS and bad service for the end customer. So if you are going to be a human that works until late avoid tesco for your prescription as if they have 3 people in the queue it’s going to take an hour and 20 minutes to do these prescriptions and you’ll be turned away. Shocking.

Review titled Appaling Service!

Used to be a good pharmacy, on my second attempt a week later to get a prescription and then find out the pharmacist is on a break. Wait half an hour to be told it'll take another 30 minutes to get my prescription. They used to be so efficient, now they all stand looking confused at the computer and chat like we're invisible and have nothing better to do. I appreciate they are busy but they need to rethink what they are spring b3caise it's not working and awful!!!

Refused to give a diabetic patients insulin, despite having the correct insulin in stock, because there were prescribed vials instead of the Kwikpens. No supprt offered. No finding the insulin. Absolutely pathetic. Only go to the pharmacy if you want to be refused medications you need to live. Dangerous staff. Unwilling and unhelpful. I know as a health professional the pharmacists in shift could have prescribed the alternative format. Just pathetic. They needs the professional registration taking from them.

Review titled Consistently terrible service

All staff are rude and keep you waiting. A member of staff from the cig counter is usually left to man the fort!. The SMS text service is a joke. You order your prescription in good faith, go in to chase it because you haven't heard anything, they've usually had it 10 days. Then you are told 'we've no stock' or 'supplier problems' which usually translates into having to get back in touch with your GP (cue Mission Impossible Soundtrack) and getting another prescription in 10mg instead of the 80mg tablets you need. Then the whole cycle starts again when you have to go back and be ignored for the best part of 20 minutes before someone 'notices' they've got a queue. Surely a text saying they are having difficulty obtaining supplies, in an adequate period time would eleviate this? This is not a one off occurrence, this is quite normal practice for the pharmacy team at Tesco, Hemsworth, West Yorkshire. Very disappointing.

Waited 15 minutes to even be served, and waited another 10 for them to find my prescription, not busy so can’t use that as an excuse. Always shocking service when I have to come and collect a prescription, pharmacy staff can be rude, which is awful.

I order my prescription online with my GP. I never hear from the pharmacy. They don’t answer the phone. You have to go in store to be told it’s out of stock. They ordered it in. I heard nothing. Again cannot call them, so have to go in store. To be told we don’t have your prescription. The medication is here but we don’t have a prescription so cannot release it. I had to leave the store to call my GP to resend my prescription and now I have no medication. I order the repeat prescription on 30/03 and it has taken this long to get no where. Not only that I was asked to step aside so she could serve the people behind me and then deal with me!!! Shocking service. Very unhelpful and dismissive of me. I have limited time as full time working mum. I’m exhausted and I do not need this stress. I will not be returning to this pharmacy

Review titled Unbelievably slow

I was the 4th person in the queue waiting to pick up a repeat prescription. There were 2 people working in the pharmacy and it took 25mins to get served. My prescription that was printed 11 days ago could not be found - after searching for ages the Pharmacist and assistant fiddled around at the dispensing table and 5 minutes later produced a plastic bag. The bag contained my prescription minus 1 box of tablets which they are supposedly ‘still waiting for’. By the time I left there were 8 people in the queue. This pharmacy is our local one but is very desperately understaffed and has been providing poor service for months. I’m not looking forward to collecting the remaining item.

I took am emergency prescription to Tesco pharmacy in Bangor Gwynedd at 17:50, i was refused a prescription saying "we close in 10 minutes" yes" i said, exactly, in 10 minutes, not now! They told me to go to Morrisons "They are open late". I was misinformed no they closed 6pm, very poor customer service and misinformation. I did not get my emergency prescription. Will not recommend Tesco Pharmacy, very bad service.

After months and months of issues with getting our daughter's repeat prescription I have now lost all faith in this pharmacy. They call to say the items are ready to be collected and then when you get there they say it wasn't them that called or that they shouldn't have called. They then try to send you to another pharmacy even though they have called that pharmacy to cancel the script. Avoid this pharmacy like the plague.

Review titled Protocol not followed deterioration
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 May 2023
I went to this pharmacy after contacting 111 and being told to be seen by a pharmacist urgently with a suspected throat infection which was worsening by day. After saying the referral hadn’t come through he listened to my symptoms in which I said I haven’t been able to eat for days due to struggling to swallow as my tonsils were that inflamed, a had started to develop a chesty cough, I had been self medicating between paracetamol, ibuprofen, lozenges and throat spray. After looking at my tonsils he said I had a bad infection that has started to spread to my chest and I needed a strong course of antibiotics immediately for at least 10 days. However he told me to call 111 back or travel to Weston boots in the hope they might possibly prescribe antibiotics but it wasn’t guaranteed and I do not drive so had no way of getting there. After continuing to deteriorate I had to call 111 at 3am the next day in which the lady said the pharmacist should have referred me back to 111 himself and I would have had a call back within 30 mins. After an appointment was made at Bridgwater hospital I was seen and prescribed a strong dose of antibiotics for a week. If I hadn’t of called 111 the infection would have continued to spread and could have resulted in sepsis. I am disgusted and disappointed that the correct protocol was not followed and this lead to another day without receiving antibiotics.
