Review titled Unbothered staff
Rated 1 star out of 5

Always told go to pharmacy for help, well don't bother going to Southbank Tesco pharmacy, didn't even finish telling them the problem before being told to see doctor - seemed very rude & unhelpful. Went & got something from the shop to help on my own using Google - which helped no end & sorted the problem.

Review titled Awful service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Emma barker - Posted on 16 August 2024
We went in today waiting to see a pharmacist as advised by the busy gp. When we got there she had gone to the toilet. We went back 15 minutes later and she had been back but then 'disappeared' again. the pharmacist was gone over an hour (@13.00 on 16/8/24) as we waited, the pharmacy assistant said that she had nipped to get something, not on lunch or anything. Her name wasn't displayed at the pharmacy as it is supposed to be fore regulations and it took a while for the assistants to actually find her name. We couldn't wait any longer, I'm sure she should be available within over an hour time period!!! Bad bad service, wants shutting down

After hurting my hand and being in a lot of pain I went to get advice. The lady pharmacist gave me a lot of her time was thorough and gave me really good advise, she told me to contact my GP if it didn't improve, but 3 days after following her advice my hand is improving.

Review titled Slow and unhelpful

I have my repeat prescriptions sent to Andover Tesco pharmacy, and every collection is a hassle. I wait the 2 - 3 working days for it to be ready for collection yet every time, I'm having to queue for an average of 20 - 40 minutes each time, just to get the counter, and then told to come back in 15 minutes to collect. Today I asked, what I needed to do to ensure it was ready to collect only to be told 'this is the same for every customer.' So frustrating. Please hire more staff to work the front counter and review the backroom process of filling prescriptions to ensure they are ready when they should be.

Review titled Disappointing
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Irritated Tesco shopper - Posted on 11 April 2024
The pharmacies in my local branch are no longer taking repeat prescriptions which was normally forwarded to the appropriate Doctors surgery concerned. I have found this out only when I tried to present my normal repeat prescription today. I have seen no notices in the local Tesco stores that is now happening, and was told that Tesco had not issued any . This resulted, for me, in a journey wasted to Tesco. I then had to travel to my Doctors surgery who informed me that is a Tesco decision to stop that service. When contacting Tesco via Facebook they advised me that they were not aware of this happening at any branch. After further investigation, I discovered that Tesco at that branch did not wish staff to spend the time on the computer entering the information, i.e . pay for someone to do it. Nor did they wish to deliver the the paper copy to the surgery. They only make about 3% on prescription drugs. I have found out we now have to use an app or online service, again no information about this in the store which is my biggest gripe. In the long run, it's those that do not have fancy phones or computers , cars or are not able to travel miles between Doctors surgeries and a local Tesco for this service.

Review titled offensive attitude of staff
Rated 2 stars out of 5

went to collect prescription at 11.30 told prescription not ready and to return before 12md as they close then. arrived back at 11.56 told I was too late. explained i had been instructed to return at 12.one staff member was particularly offensive the way she spoke to me saying I should have arrived earlier.I stood my ground and it took less than one minute to collect my prescription .There was still two minutes to go before 12md. I was already stressed dealing with my husbands ill health I did not expect such confrontative behaviour which was so unnecessary . what is the world coming too when civility is in such short supply

Review titled Abysmal experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mandy Flood - Posted on 11 January 2024
On the 11th January 2024 two prescriptions were sent to Tesco Pharmacy in Millbrook. I have rheumatoid arthritis and walk with a stick. After being told there was no time frame for my prescriptions to be filled today l was given one back. As l had two l asked the pharmacist where was the other one? He asked one of his dispensers to look for it. She came back to me to tell me l didn’t have two prescriptions to be filled and the pharmacists response was “Are you sure it wasn’t your last prescription?’ As that prescription was months ago l assured him l was not confused. My arthritis does not affect my cognitive behaviour. I had to walk back to my gp surgery as the bus service is only 2 buses an hour and enquire about the second prescription. This was done with difficulty as the cold had exacerbated my pain. And l wasn’t able to wait for 30 minutes for the bus as it was so cold out. The second prescription was verified at the drs & the receptionist attempted to call Tesco pharmacy several times in my presence but there was no reply. She gave me a note with the barcode to show at the pharmacy to aid them to find my second prescription and l set off again walking back to Tesco. This second walk to Tesco did not help as l am/was in considerable pain. I get to the pharmacy and wait in line again. I explain l am missing a prescription and show the barcode on the note l had been given by the drs receptionist. I said that l had spoken to the pharmacist and a member of the dispensing staff about my second prescription. The note from the drs wasn’t even looked at. I was asked my name and in a grudging manner my missing prescription was located. When l asked “Well, you found it, Can you tell me how come both the pharmacist & other staff member stated there was no second prescription? I was met with silence and a smug sneer. I had had prior negative experience with this pharmacy but as it was the closest to the drs surgery a 25 minute walk it was selected as my best option. I will not use it again. I appreciate the pharmacy is a busy one as it’s located in the supermarket but l expect common courtesy and a service for my medical needs that l can rely on. Sadly this was not the case for Tesco’s pharmacy. One bad experience l can let go but two is not something l think of as good practice. If l had received a “sorry for that. we missed it due to being busy” l could of let it go but to have no explanation given and a smug sneer to my enquiry is in no way acceptable. I am disgusted with the service given.

Review titled Unacceptable wait
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Lynsey Buckle - Posted on 15 December 2023
The wait for the pharmacy queue is unacceptable. It's always the same regardless of when you come. A long queue that barely moves, elderly people made to stand for way too long. And never a single word of apology from the staff for the wait

Review titled Booked appointment but didn’t have the product

I booked an appointment for a vaccine. They failed to let me know they had run out. Just felt like they could have let me know and stopped me wasting my time.
