Rated 1 star out of 5

Went to pick up prescription dr had sent through to this pharmacy after waiting 20 minutes for prescription only gave 1 part and a ticket to pick up another medication tommorow when ordered in I asked about 3rd item apparently this was on a separate prescription and was told they can take upto 3 days to give this very unrealistic as this was medication that was needed today so I was told to wait while they done it pharmacist was very rude and intimidating I have used this chemist for years and all my repeat prescriptions go there but I will not be spoken to in the manner I was spoken to so have changed my pharmacy on my nhs app so no other medication goes there for this day forward very disappointed in the way I was spoken to. Avoid this pharmacy

  2. Review titled 2 years of issues

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ali - Posted on 06 April 2024

Rarely have stock of prescriptions. Most staff are friendly however some very rude when their system went down and unable to provide medication. Very frustrating when I only went that day because they didn’t have stock previously had run out. Some positive experiences with Pharmacists but also very negative, not looking at my son’s rash and providing inappropriate cream or being agitated when I was referred by 111 for a consultation and made to feel like I was wasting their time. I was entitled to refunds on prescriptions which I had paid to them and they were unable to refund me. No explanation provided and told to use any other pharmacy which was not allowed. After 2 years we have found an alternative pharmacy.

  3. Review titled A bit inconsiderate and poor rationale of decision making

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Concerned one - Posted on 21 March 2024

I need an emergency prescription - a medicine that never to be missed. I overlooked it on my previous request. There’s no assurance that my GP can process the prescription tomorrow and it’s Friday. I applied for emergency prescription but the duty Pharmacist allowed me to have 1 dose only because he specifically said he doesn’t trust me , and there was a note saying dose is to be tapered. That note is not new , been there for years. Supposing the dose will be reduced, it will takes several months to have significant change on my daily dosage. So probably I will beg again on this weekend, if my repeat prescription is not ready. Without enough and assured stock is distressing. Providing with only one dosage can help but simply unreasonable and unjustifiable.

  4. Review titled Horrendous service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jane - Posted on 16 March 2024

My son needed emergency medication late at night and the Piccadilly Circus Boots was extremely unhelpful. Said their access didn’t work. Said my son’s NHS number was wrong. Very rude to my son. My son has now been left with no medication.

  5. Review titled Sent all over the place

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had a phone call from the GP in Okehampton, partner has been suffering with terrible ear ache and pain for 4 days, the GP said to just walk into Camelford boots and they can prescribe after already telling them they couldn’t do it as they weren’t trained. Then we were told to drive 30 mins away to wadebridge Boots where they told us they only look at children for Pharmacy First. So another wasted journey with no remedy at the end of the tunnel either. Shocking service from okehampton medical, boots Camelford and boots wadebridge

  6. Review titled What has gone wrong with Boots Syston Branch ?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by darryl warren - Posted on 02 February 2024

Boots in Syston ( adjacent to the health Centre) has recently become the epitome of the TV Show "Little Britain's Computer says no Sketch" If it were not so dire this would be laughable. I currently care for my elderly parents who are on an assortment of medication . As they are over 80 I call the Health Centre for their repeat prescription in the early part of the Week and then on the day I work from home I attempt to pick up their Prescriptions . Please note I have used the word attempt as for the last 6 months I have found it almost impossible to receive the full order despite the 4 days notice. Invariably they do not have at least one of the 3 tablets in stock or need to order it in . My question to boots is why on receipt of the order is there no alert that a certain medication is not available and for a re-order to be made at this time or automatically? Instead you waste my time on a monthly basis meaning I have to take at least 2 or 3 trips as opposed to the one. Furthermore should the tablets be in any other form than what has been prescribed ie. the same medication but in capsule form instead of tablet form then this becomes Tantamount to the Profumo scandal and I either need to return to the Health Centre to disturb the 85K a year overworked GP to alter the prescription in order to match what Boots has in stock at the time. This also applies if Boots only has a tablet in 20 mg and the GP has prescribed 40mg. Now those in the cheap seats may advise the patient to take 2 tablets instead of one and give them 2 packs instead of one but not Boots. Boots will ask you to come back again when the 40mg tablets are back in stock and you better pray it is not returned as 40mg Capsule or you will be back in the Health Centre asking the Doctor to make an amendment on your prescription to say Tablet instead of capsule !!! This cannot continue . Boots are frustrating the process and it is only a matter of time before someone does not get what they need in a timely manner . You are playing with peoples lives and their time . Please sharpen up ! Keep up to date with your inventory and be more pragmatic when it comes to getting a resolution for your patience. You have done away with dossets now so you have less to do . Provide the service the people of Syston deserve. Despite living 150 metres away from Boots in Syston I have opted for East Goscote to be my parents Prescription supplier as has been my frustration with Boots. This demonstrates my desperation and how poor the service has become. You should really be ashamed that one of your geographically closest customers feels it necessary to go 2 miles up the road to receive the service you should be providing. Pull yourselves together and remember why you chose this Vocation.

  7. Review titled Terrible pharmacy capacity

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2024

Several occasions we have tried to collect prescriptions for my father. Each time the same story, they are not ready and it will take a long time more than an hour as we are short staffed, can we come back another day. Often when coming back a different day they are still not ready and we are obliged to wait an hour or so. This is over many months. We the family will not use it ( boots Gallowtree gate Leicester) anymore but my father is later 80’s and does not want to change despite many problems over a long period of time.

  8. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I visited the pharmacy urgently after work to obtain antibiotics and dressing prescribed by my daughter's doctor for an infection on her operated toe. Despite my timely arrival, I encountered significant delays in processing my prescription due to issues with other clients. Regrettably, after wasting more than half an hour, I was informed that the pharmacy could not provide the prescribed dressing, leading me to cancel the entire order. This inconvenience resulted in additional expenses for parking. The following day, while attempting to consolidate all prescriptions at another pharmacy, I discovered critical components were missing. Despite my attempts to contact Boots Pharmacy for resolution, I received no response. When I later visited the pharmacy to address the issue, I encountered an unhelpful attitude from a staff member at approximately 4:30 pm on January 15, 2024. The woman in question displayed a dismissive demeanor and failed to understand the urgency of my situation. Her unprofessional conduct included directing me to the queue without addressing my concerns. It was only with the assistance of another staff member that my issue was resolved promptly in as little as 3 minutes, highlighting the stark contrast in customer service.

  10. Review titled Understaffed and prescription delays

Rated 1 star out of 5

Consistently big queues and delays when processing prescriptions. The only way to prevent running out of medication is ordering your prescription10 days in advance at least I’d say.
