Was very nervous about having my cataract removed but from reception through all the tests , the surgeon and recovery staff, I found every one very friendly helpful and they put me at ease. It was a pain free procedure and can't wait to have my other eye done.

The receptionists were absolutely excellent and so were all the nurses. My experience of the op was not so good, more painful than anticipated on 3 occasions, I felt quite anxious as they did not explain what they were doing. I would seriously contemplate having my other cataract done. Post-op was excellent, rapid recovery and so pleased with the outcome.

I felt a bit dubious, but there was no need. All the staff were really nice, everything was explained to you as they went along. There was no pain involved and I was asked from start to finish if all was ok. Would not hesitate to return when my other eye is ready.

On arrival we were treated with a very nice receptionist and from then exactly on time started the procedure with all staff for a pre cataract operation. Excellent facilities and a credit to all at the NHS

A friend told me that he was fortunate to be given an appointment at Newmedica in Leeds. “ one of the best decisions I ever made “ he added. When I was offered a similar appointment , and received the treatment in both eyes I echoed my friends words. Throughout the investigations and operations I received total care from all the staff involved and that includes the provision of transport to the practice and return.

I attended Newcastle Westgate Centre for Cataract sergery yesterday. I was very apprehensive about this but I need not have been. All the team from Nurses to Surgeons were very professional. They were very caring and supportive. They explained what would happen to ease my concerns. To anyone waiting for this surgery do not worry as there is nothing to be concerned about. You will be well cared for. Thank you to all

My mum Pauline, had to have both her eyes lasered after cataract surgery 18 month ago. She was very satisfied with the service she received from the healthcare professionals.

On arrival the process of cataract removal was fully explained. Drops were administered with care and the surgery was painless and successful. Each of the five members of staff who attended to me at various stages of the procedure checked my details which I found very reassuring. Finally I was invited to have a hot drink before being escorted to the safety of my daughter. Today, my world is much more colourful. My thanks to the surgeon and other members of the staff.
