This is my second cataract removal and I had a wonderful experience with both,from being greeted on arrival , offered a welcome cup of tea and biscuits to the very caring staff who make you feel so comfortable and looked after, to the surgeon who comes to talk to you prior to your op , I can’t fault them at all . Well done Spa Medica .

I had my second cataract operation in October. Both procedures were quick and pain free. The staff were attentive and kind. A nurse and the surgeon talked me through the operation and put me at my ease. Following the operation I knew who I should contact if there were any problems, but there were none. Both operations were very successful and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. Thank you.

I can not pretend for one moment that for someone experiencing Eye Surgery for the first time, this was not a daunting experience but 'SpaMedica Exeter' made it as straight forward as possible and guided me with care and thoughtfulness through the whole procedure. From the point of arrival, through each stage of preparation, Nurses were on hand to answer any questions and allay any fears. In the Operating Theatre care was taken to ensure I was as comfortable as possible and all instructions were given clearly and pleasantly. I had not realised that this operation would require patient participation in following the bright light wherever it moved to, but that was no problem and gave me something to concentrate on. I did not experience any pain, only discomfort. When the operation was completed the 'Discharge' nurse very pleasantly gave me full instructions of what I must and must not do, together with a bag of Eye drops etc. and left me with the lovely Receptionists. An appointment was made for my Post-operative appointment, when all being well I shall be able to book a date to remove the Cataract in my left eye. I am amazed at the improvement that this procedure has made to my eyesight in just 48 hours and I am enjoying it more each day. I admit that for the first 24 to 36 hours there was some 'scratchyness' and sensation of bruising but this soon passed. If I have any criticism at all, it is the length of time it has taken to remove the arrow drawn over my right eye with an indelible marker pen! But that aside my special thanks go to all the team at 'SpaMedica Exeter for job well done. In conclusion I would say, without reservation, that 'SpaMedica Exeter' is providing a 'First Rate' service that improves the quality of life quite significantly for the more elderly in our society at a time when it can be most appreciated. Keep up the good work, and here's to the next one.

I have had a very pleasant experience with SpaMedica. The first appointment was quick, and arranged at a convenient time. The pre-op assessment was efficient and thorough, although it took a long time. The operation day was efficient, although there was an inevitable wait for the anaesthetic to work. The treatment I was given was exceptional, all staff are extremely nice, nothing is too much trouble. I was looked after very well and am very pleased with the outcome of my treatment.

The care and attention I received for both of my cataract operations could not be bettered and the expertise of the medical staff made the experience stress-free. I am now able to see equally well with both eyes. To sum up in just one word - Brilliant!

What an amazing service and outcome. The first Cataract went a dream, the staff/nurses were wonderful and a delight. When my first cataract was to be done; walking into the building, I was met by a delightful man who offered to make me tea and give biscuits. Each stage the staff responsible explained the process, made me at ease until the operation. The staff and surgeon made sure all was fine and the next thing I knew it was done. Didn’t feel anything, only water being washed over the eye. There wasn’t any obvious cutting, discomfort or pain. The second operation was much the same as the first but knowing what to expect, I was really nervous. One of the nurses took my hand and kept me calm, holding my hand right through to the end. What brilliant staff, caring all the way. My first operation was on 30/06/23 - second on the 26/09/23. I’ve worn glasses since I was six, now I can focus for reading and driving. The clarity is unbelievable. Thank you SpaMedica Exeter
