My mother stated that every time she visited SpaMedica for a review, consultation or actual surgery she was seen and cared for by everyone who was professional, friendly and put her mind at ease as she was nervous at first of having the procedure done. She stated all spa medica personnel were so very helpful.

Attended the Kendal unit. Obviously making great in roads into waiting lists, had been waiting 16mths for referral from my eye specialist to Cumberland Infirmary. Steady stream of patients going through the system channelled through process in different areas very efficiently by various staff members to ensure smooth running. Initial assessment and then 2-3hrs on site for the procedure. Only negative was with the admin, has to postpone procedure so cancelled original appointment and re-arranged, unfortunately the original booking and the amended booking were both cancelled so wasn't expected on day of assessment but was able to be added to end of list rather than return on another date. Overall positive experience and an end to waiting to hear. Very easy to get referral via Doctor or Opticians, made aware of service by another service user, should be more widely known that this service is available.

Arrangements were precise and helpful and the whole experience of cataract surgery combined efficiency with great care and reassurance. Explanations of the procedures were always given and as a patient I valued both the information and the manner in which it was given.

Am extremely grateful to have had 2 cataract removals so promptly after referral. Staff exceptionally kind, courteous, efficient and professional, especially as I live alone. The two actual surgical procedures were very different; the first was gentle, unhurried, reassuring and comfortable. The second felt heavy handed, rough, uncomfortable and rushed, and I was very shaken for a few hours afterwards. However, if the surgeons were not doing 25 cases daily, many of us would still be waiting. Thus this is not a complaint, as surgeons are only human and must get tired under so much pressure. I am delighted to have two well functioning eyes, a privilege compared to so many other area in the world. Thank-you, SapMedica!

I had a great experience at Spa Medica Kendal. All staff extremely friendly and obliging. I was put at ease after being a bit nervous. Everything we explained very well. Spotlessly clean and modern. All appointments were on time and great communication from Spa medica. The procedure was quick and even get a little bag with my eye drops and leaflets and a pen in. Very impressed. Would recommend to anyone having eye surgery.
