My cataract removal went very smoothly thanks to the friendly, efficient and skillful team at Spa Medica Thorpe Park, Leeds. Everyone from the receptionist to the operating doctors, nurses and technicians through to the follow up phone line team were helpful, reassuring and professional. Thank you.

The staff were all supportive and friendly. I was amazed how efficient the organisation was and how quickly my dates were from referral to operation.They kept a calm atmosphere which was invaluable. The expertise of the surgeon gave me confidence and the operating environment was superb. The cleanliness of the pristine building was excellent with constant attention throughout my visit. The quality of my vision in my eye is staggering! To say I’m delighted is an understatement. Thank you to all concerned.

The entire process from booking the appointments to undergoing the procedure were faultless. All the staff I met were friendly, polite and caring amongst other personal attributes. The appointments all ran to time. The entire place was spotless, with staff continually cleaning. The complimentary beverages and biscuits were much appreciated. All the members of staff I spoke with were professional and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. The speed in which I was assessed to having the procedure were literally days, within the same week. In light of current events and the ongoing pandemic this is a credit to all at Spa Medica Leeds. Thank you so much.

This was my second eye op and a brilliant experience from walking in to walking out. Everone was attentive and professional. I had the op yesterday (Monday) and today I can see the raindrops...thank you everone.

I was not looking forward to having someone cut my eyeball to insert a new lens, I don't even go to a dentist but as I was now almost blind in the eye I had to put on my big boy pants and have it done. I was really impressed with the staff on my first visit for the assessment, the clinic was ultra clean and smart, I was instantly offered free good quality coffee and biscuits. All the staff were friendly and seemed to really be happy to talk to you. Then 10 days later I went for the actual operation, I was dealt with by really friendly staff again and had a variety of eye drops put into the eye, I then met the lovely surgeon who explained the procedure, I was then introduced to all the nurses and positioned on the table, a face covering was put on with just a hole for the eye, the indent for the head in the table helps keep the head still, there are a number of strange noises all around the head like buzzing machines but I never once felt anything other than water or air touch the eyeball, there are strange shapes and it looks like you are looking through lace at times, very quickly he says that's it it's all done. Not once was I in any discomfort. The surgeon was a genius. After that I was met again by the nurses who gave me my drops and instructions how to use them. I would never be frightened again to have the operation again. Anyone who has to have this procedure, really don't be afraid it's a walk in the park. Spa Medica are a well organized and professional team. Well done to the NHS for funding this really important work. Thanks everyone for helping me keep my eyesight. David

My son accompanied me to a pre-assessment and fortunately the laser procedure was available the next day. On both occasions, we found all staff to be outstanding in politeness, assistance and enthusiasm. From the gentleman who looks after check-in and offers to get refreshments, to the optometrist who treats patients with care and compassion - amazing. As a NHS facility, it's one of the most efficient and effective that I have experienced.

Both pre-op assessment and cataract surgery carried out with professional care and courtesy. After initial eye drops, surgery was quick, 10 minutes, with no discomfort and hardly any sensation. In and out under 2 hours.
