relaxed atmosphere friendly staff-did not appear rushed or under pressure clean,bright environment everything was explained carefully I was met by a friendly'porter',who even gat me a drink;receptionist was cheerful and friendly;but there was a longish wait[of which I could have been warned beferehand];into surgical suite where drops instilled carefully and quickly;then only short wait to pre-op room where I was met by friendly nurse and surgeon,who explained procedure;operation was painless with just a bit of pressure-then carefully conducted to cheerful post-p nurse who advised about the next few weeks [and follow up with my optician]

I attended on the 3/2 for cataract surgery on my right eye, which was successfully carried out. From visiting my optician for an annual eye check (in January 2023) to having the operation took exactly 3 weeks.., which I consider truly amazing. All the staff I came in contact with at SpaMedica , were polite, friendly, courteous and professional. I was genuinely impressed. In fact, on my “pre op” visit, my wife and I were offered a hot drink and biscuits, whilst we waited. A very nice gesture.!! The operation was explained to me clearly in advance and the booklets given to me, telling me what to expect both before and after the operation were and are really useful. All in all, a very positive experience. Even better, my vision in my right eye is now excellent. Everything is so colourful and bright!! I have no hesitation in recommending SpaMedica. Thank you very much.

From start to finish the clinical and administrative staff at the Newcastle under Lyme clinic were totally professional, helpful and friendly. My right eye cataract procedure was completed in under two hours from my entering the clinic and the outcome has been spectacular. I look forward to my left eye being done. Thank you so much. I have continued to recommend you to all my friends who like me, are octogenarians and have problems seeing clearly at times. Well done.

I have just had my second cataract procedure and, as with the first, I have nothing but the highest praise for everything and everyone involved , from my transport to and from my home to all the staff at the hospital . Every step explained to me in detail by caring people to put me at ease, absolutely wonderful.

Your Review: My eye sight was deteriorating due to cataracts making night driving difficult and watching outside sport difficult to view and follow. My Optician Heath Optometric referred me to the NHS who promptly referred me to SpaMedica in Chesterton . The consultant was very thorough and helpful assessing my current health and the prognosis. I was told that after consulting Royal Stoke Ophthalmology department and my medical records an appointment would be made for SpaMedica to operate on first of all one eye and if successful the second would be done in a matter of weeks. On arriving at SpaMedica I was able to park within meters of the main door. Security was observed and my wife and I were welcomed at the door and offered a hot drink and seat . I was welcomed by a friendly reception and details were checked . Within a short time a nurse introduced herself and took me to a consulting room. She explained the procedure and put my mind at rest . After numbing my eye I was moved to a comfortable waiting area before being taken to the theatre and meeting the surgical team . The process took about 20 minutes with no pain felt just a little pressure . The surgeon explained each procedure and helped to keep me relaxed. Within 15 minutes I was ready to leave after being offered a welcome cup of coffee. The information on how to manage over the next couple of weeks together with eye drop instructions were explicit. This was followed by a referral to Heath Optometric so they could check progress. Once this was confirmed an appointment was arranged with the NHS for the other eye to be dealt with . My opinion of the NHS, SpaMedica and my optician was nothing but positive

I have had both eyes done now and was concerned when having my first one treated but all the staff were great and friendly My sight has improved greatly and highly recommend getting it done Was treated like a person and not a number Many thanks to the NHS

From beginning to the end of surgery all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Couldn't do any more to make the surgery go well. Would recommend this practice for any eye surgery required.
