Whilst I have no issue with the treatment offered, or advice given, the constant turnover of Dentists is a concern. Having used the practice for 14yrs, I must have seen a dozen different dentists during this time. I have rarely seen the same one twice. What has happened to the concept of a practice run collectively by a small group of NHS Dentists? I can only assume that having served their mandatory minimum NHS commitment, they move on to private practice. Continuity of care is therefore an issue and you build no trust relationship or dialogue with a regular dentist.

Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. I am happy to hear that despite some changes in dentists you are still pleased with our services. Our practice, like many practices today, is part of a small cooperate rather than being run by a small group of dentists. We do however work very hard to appoint NHS dentists. There is currently a national shortage of NHS dentists, but at Dentalcare Hook we are lucky enough to have several dentists contracted to work under the NHS meaning we can see thousands of NHS patients. Dentists do not have a mandatory minimum NHS commitment – some will never work for the NHS and some will for their whole career. Unfortunately, this is not something we can control at practice level and is each dentist’s personal choice. Whilst some dentists do leave NHS practices to work in private practices, others are looking for a better work life balance, have personal circumstances or retire. Had a very hygienist appointment today. Sometimes they can be mildly painful but had no pain at all with this treatment.

Excellent care and treatment today for a large replacement filling. Staff phoned me at short notice to say they had a cancellation, I was thrilled to accept the appointment as the tooth was giving me some discomfort. Staff were friendly and professional. Dentist was fantastic and talked me through the procedure step by step. Highly recommend this dental practice.

I have recently joined the practice after moving from Norfolk to Hampshire two years ago. I joined as they opened their practice to NHS patients and I am a pensioner. I have enjoyed both the examination and dental hygenist appointments. I didn't have to wait either time and the staff were both polite and extremly efficient. I would recomend this practice to family and freinds.
