Whenever I have a problem I always get response .The reception is always very helpful, also the diabetic staff are really helpful .The only thing I don’t like is that you cannot really see the GP it’s always over the phone.

The receptionist listened to my concerns. She gave me an appointment with the doctor and I didn’t have to wait too long before I was seen.

Telephone appointment made from surgery at the time booked so I was able to have the consultation at mutually convenient time.

I had a phone consultation with a doctor who seemed inconvenienced by having to make the call. He interrupted me twice and generally came across as brusque. Then, 48hrs later, I get sent the same survey I did on the phone and asked to return it to the surgery. Poor!

When i got to Drs for my appt at 8am there was a huge queue out the door which i joined the end of. I then walked out of the queue into the surgery as i didnt want miss my appt but there was no other way to book in. I couldn't find anybody to ask downstairs. From going before , I knew bloods were done upstairs so went up and eventually found someone to help tell my nurse I was here but it was ten past gone by time i found someone. Needs to be a better way, i probably wasnt the only one in same situation but that may gavecstayed in queue.

  8. Review titled Not for patients

Rated 2 stars out of 5

At 8am I attended the clinic inperson to book an appt for my husband. The receptionist informed me my husband would receive an early phone call as he was first in the queue. I wrongly assumed this would be confirming an appt time. Instead it turned out to be a telephone consultation which I didn't ask for. or want. I wanted a face to face appt. apparently telephone consultaions are the norm at this practice? The doctor realised the confusion and arranged a face to face appt for midday. This was the only Doctor on that day and a locum at that. The next day my elderly neighbour (over 90 years of age)had rubbed an open wound on the heel of his foot and required a professional dressing. I phoned the practice. No appointments. There was availability the next afternoon for which we were not available but informed We could take him to the Herne Bay walk in Centre...Since this practice was taken over by new management it is nigh impossible to actually obtain an appointment or to see a doctor face to face. It appears to accommodate part time Doctors and part time nurses. Patients are secondary: and unable to register at any other practice.,

I came to BMC on Monday 27th Feb to have stitches removed following brain surgery at Kings College hospital in London to remove a tumour. The nurse was a bit rough with me and rubbed the wound with tissue and tap water - didn’t seem right. The next morning I had csf fluid running out of my head and had to spend 3 more days back in Kings hospital to monitor this and give me antibiotics and put in another stitch. This was most likely caused by the way the stitches were removed - according to the doctors there. And I am lucky it didn’t result in any brain damage! So I am extremely unhappy with that experience at BMC - which is a shame, because I do think the patient care and processes have improved significantly over recent years otherwise.

Doctor called to feed back some results, she was very caring, listened to me and gave me good advice to move on with to help myself.
