  1. Review titled No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lori Rhys - Posted on 11 April 2023

I had a basal carcinoma removed from my forehead and leg a week ago. I was told by the consultant if I felt I had an infection to see my GP. I took myself this afternoon when I finished work to the surgery to be told no appointments and was unable to get an appointment for a doctor or nurse. All I needed was a prescription for antibiotics. My partner has some for chest infections that may occur with COPD so I’m now having to take his. I’m unable to go first thing in the morning as i am self employed and have to start work early. Training to get through on the phone is a nightmare too!

  2. Review titled Worst patient experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 April 2023

This GP has gone from worse to worst in last year. It has become norm for them to not offer any appointments for severe patient condition. My daughter is suffering from stomach ache and missed couple of days of school. My wife went today in morning for appointment for my daughter. She was seventh in queue. She explained condition of my daughter but still was not offered any appointments. Although for less severe symptoms others were given. There is clear disparity in process and it seems there are clear favourites when it comes to providing the appointment. The reception staff’s behaviour is clearly not same with everyone and it seems they favour people they know or people with “same appearance and behaviour” . My wife asked for standard operating procedure for booking appointments but she was not given any response. In the meantime my daughter is suffering and we are also getting pushing as parents -

  3. Review titled Great Doctors, awful telephone system

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Like everyone else is saying. The telephone system is so so bad. How in 2023 is a telephone system this poor. If anything. Why don't you do callbacks even? I know the NHS are really under pressure which is something I'm aware of and that they're doing their best but in 2023 this is diabolical. I was at a old practice and never had phone line issues like this. This needs to be sorted out. Sorry to be harsh but it's 2023 not 2003. People need all the help that they need. What happens if something bad was to occur to someone and there's no answer or you denying the opportunity for an appointment. Very frustrated. Doctors are so good though. They're helpful, but the telephone lines and people behind them. Not helpful at all.

  4. Review titled Not a Great Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 April 2023

I tried my best not to go to the gp for several months after making a complaint last year which was basically ignored in the first instance & when I did finally get a reply it was a very basic generic type reply. I have no confidence in the gp’s anymore & basically the admin & reception staff is so rude that it leaves one feeling anxious to attend & afterwards feeling harassed. It doesn’t help to raise complaints as one is then victimised when attending gain & staff talk to you like you are a nuisance. I became unwell recently & had been self medication with over the counter medication as I have no confidence in the gp’s, sent to trainee gp’s & having to deal with the unsociable, uncooperative & bad-mannered reception staff leaves one upset & distressed afterwards. I returned because I wasn’t getting better even after self medicating & as I have ongoing serious health issues I thought it best to make an appointment. I attended just to find that I wasn’t seeing a trainee gp’s but a nurse. It is just appalling that one cannot see a gp’s. Patients that are feeling unwell or have ongoing health issues just don’t have the energy to deal with the confrontational attitudes that the bhc reception staff give out. When I went up to reception to ask for the toilet coded I shouted out in a loud tone to step back & afford the patient talking around the other corner of the reception desk privacy, this startled me & once again made me question why I am still registered at these gp’s. I then returned to reception desk after being seen by the nurse (who had to take the script to a gp’s to approve anyway) to fill in a prescription request for another item I had forgotten to ask for whilst I was in with the nurse. When I got to the front reception desk I asked for a pen as one of the senior admin staff said loudly “on the table” & walked away. There are no hellos, no pleasant interactions, just orders rudely communicated. No matter how friendly one is to the reception staff stay rude & unfriendly. I had to wait for the person who was using the pen & I must say that the way the staff member spoke to this poor person trying to register him & baby was appalling. I returned home again with no treatment & was advised to wait another few days to see if the problem will resolve itself. I don’t understand the triage system that the surgery is implementing to determine the urgency of the patients needs & or treatment as they do not treat emergent cases, this is what ane is for. General practitioners (gp’s) treat all common medical conditions & refer patients to hospitals & other medical services for urgent & specialist treatment so I do not understand why common medical conditions need a triage system? One only has to read all the reviews over the last year to recognise the failings of bhc yet it seems no one cares or is doing anything about it. On a positive note, the nurses are very good & always helpful at bhc & one of the last few positive points I can raise.

  6. Review titled I used to rave about this practice (not anymore).

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Sarah M - Posted on 24 April 2023

I have just had a health issue and once I got a doctor to speak to they were absolutely wonderful, but, I had to make the appointment via 111 and not the surgery as it is impossible to get through to the surgery directly, or once through be able to secure a future appointment . I have also recently attempted to make an appointment for my daughter, but to no avail. I understand the pressures that the NHS are under at the moment. I sympathise. However, it is unacceptable to have a phone system that rather than even allow you to join a queue, simply presents you with an engaged tone. I can sit in a queue, I can be disappointed that I have not been able to get appointment, but this feeling of absolute desertion and helplessness from not being able to even access a queue is unacceptable. Simply sticking a letter up on your website that there are pressures and you are doing your best is not good enough. The NHS is not a free service, we all pay for it through our taxes. I have a great deal of time and respect for the institution. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to access my surgery. But respect flows both ways. I'm asking you a simple thing - just sort your phone system out.

  7. Review titled Horrible surgery and rude reception staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 March 2023

I have been waiting since last week for my appointment . I was told to go on patient access at 7.30 am or 9.00 am or 1 .00 when surgery released the appointments. Tried to go for every single day and appointments gone with in 1 minutes of releasing them . Then I manage to book 1 appointment for today and doctor meant to call me and no one call all day . When I enquired I was told my appt was closed because I didn’t pick the phone . I was holding my phone since all morning . Reception lady was so rude and said if I compliant I need to write a letter not email . I said email is writing but she told me we don’t do emails . Then why this surgery asking us to only book appointments online why not we allowed to go to surgery . This surgery need big big change . So fed up . We are paying all our taxes and insurances but unable to see Gp when we need it . I hardly go to see GP but this time I had to get it checked as my colestrol are high unless surgery want me to have heart attach than they will see me .

  8. Review titled Great clinicians no appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 March 2023

I am so very sorry to write this review but I am defeated. I have been trying to get an urgent appointment on behalf of my mother who is going through a needs assessment in a local care home and referrals need to be made to certain places. I’m told I need to speak to the dr but you just cannot get an appointment. I’ve tried all the usual Patient Access and NHS app and within seconds of releasing spots before you can register they are gone. I strongly suspect they are not really being released. I’ve tried complaining and I’m told there is a strict embargo on allowing patients access to GPS. Alongside my mothers situation I need to get referred back to hospital clinics after Covid for serious illnesses and again without access to the GP cannot do so. I’ve been with this surgery since 2005 apart from a very short period away over 2019-2020. The clinicians are amazing snc very good once you do get through but the system is completely broken. They really have to rethink what they need to do- and they are still admitting new patients. On Facebook everyone is complaining about the same issue and review too as you will see, but I note that the surgery isn’t even bothering to comment which isn’t the sign of one who cares. My mothers care home has advised I remove Mum from this surgery now because they also have hit a brick as with them. I strongly advise people in the samd position as me to contact the CQC site South Bucks because the inspector is now collating evidence to decide whether to go in and reinspect according to an email I received from them last week when I complained. People are not safe with this practice until access is improved to our wonderful GPS.

  9. Review titled Trying to get an appointment is impossible

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I've not been able to get an appointment since November 2022. Clinical care is probably ok,but trying to even speak to a Doctor is seemingly impossible.
