All staff were organized and the operation was short and trouble free. The one way system was probably unnecessary at this point in time.

I believe recent changes combining the surgeries coming under Gateshead NHS have probably not landed properly . All I needed was an annual review of my medication and it proved to be nothing but hassle . I didn’t want an appointment ASAP I just wanted to understand what the process was and why did things appear to be difficult. The Surgery has always been excellent with a great team of professional staff but something has changed and needs a review of the situation . In short I attempted to contact the surgery by telephone with no indication where I was in the queue so I gave up . Issues around which site I should use to complete the E Consult form. 2 visits to the surgery within an hour as a text received from the team suggested I needed a separate appointment to provide further details but these were already held on the E Form. I must provide praise to the Receptionist I spoke to , she was very pleasant and was very helpful

The Dr sent me a text 6th Aug to make an appointment as they want to discuss my test results ,almost impossible to get through on the phone 45 min wait then cut off! Tried going into the surgery for an appointment- non available was told to go down next morning at 8 which I did only to be told no appointments no one was in waiting room! It’s becoming increasingly difficult to receive healthcare from this practice! Today 18th August I still don’t have an appointment!

I rang yesterday morning to try get a book on the day appointment for pain I was in but wasn’t allowed one as I was told it’s not an emergency. My sister rang up 5 mins later to try and get something prebookable for me and they told her I needed to be seen the same day and gave her an appointment for me in the afternoon. Why wasn’t I just given one in the first place when I rang. The frustration of dealing with this surgery is too much. What would have happened if I didn’t have a sister to ring up for me, some people don’t have anybody to help them.

Event well organised and staff were really helpful, the whole thing ran like clockwork.I would highly recommend this practice as it was a really helpful experience.

How can a doctors surgery get this bad. They are supposed to help people especially vulnerable people. Sometimes when you ring (after waiting an hour for an answer) they will be so nice but other times the stand off attitude, abruptness and one word answers is horrible to deal with and makes you feel guilty for seeking help. It all depends who answers the phone but it shouldn’t be this way. Nobody should be deterred from seeking medical help because they don’t feel strong enough to deal with the way they are treated. Something needs done and it needs done fast before a vulnerable patient pushed too far. They should remember what the surgery is there for in the first place.
