Wanted to speak to my G.P. Filled out the form on a Monday a G.P. rang on Friday (not my G.P.) The doctor asked me what I wanted to do! Wasn’t entirely satisfied with outcome. Phoned practice to request appointment with my G.P. on the same day. Was told that a Dr will phone on Monday to talk to me to confirm if I can see my own G.P. What a farce. This practice my be good at some things but Mental Heath care is not one of them. My own G.P. is great when I can get to see her. Perhaps the practice has taken on too many patients and is unable to cope with demand.

Dear Patient, We are pleased you received an appointment in a timely manner, and we are sorry you were “not entirely satisfied” with the outcome, we would encourage you to discuss this with your GP. Please use online services or call the surgery to make an appointment. Every urgent call gets a call back on the day from a clinician and all our GPs provide this service on a rotation basis. All appointment requests re triaged within two working days. Book an Appointment (fordingbridgegps.co.uk) Whilst we aim to provide continuity of care wherever we can, this is not always possible due to appointment demand. Mental Health provision is a nationally under resourced area, but we strive to provide the best possible care. italk is your local talking therapy service. I have regular blood tests and the surgery are very punctual with the booked times. The nurse is friendly and efficient. Overall good experience.

Another fast and painless blood test from the nurses at the North entrance i have never had any problems at this end of the surgery they are always polite

Access to the surgery is through the anima health portal which is atrocious- takes 10 mins to complete, often answering the same questions and if you are truthful about your condition it defaults to telling you to go to A&E, so you have to tailor your answers to those that simply allow you to progress through the system to put in a request. Absolutely terrible system and leaves access to the surgery almost non-existent. Have tried to request appointments in person on-site but always told to use anima health

Dear Patient, We are sorry you have experienced difficulties with Anima online consultation system. It has been designed for patients to contact the surgery to communicate with a triage team who are able to signpost them to the most appropriate care in a timely manner. All our appointment requests are triaged, and by answering all the Anima questions the clinician has sufficient information to determine the most appropriate appointment or service for your needs. From my first e-consultant, blood test, scan & consultant appointment took less than 3 weeks. Now on waiting list for op. Great communication. Exceptional service. Lovely caring staff throughout my contact.

The online consultation proceedure works well although I appreciate it might not suit everyone. The practice is run in a very professional manner and despite the pressures the team work under they always friendly and clearly want to help.

Having moved into the area nine months ago we have without exception found Fordingbridge Surgery to be efficient, helpful and kind. The Receptionists and Dispensary are always patient, listen and helpful. The Doctors always phone when they say they will, and when necessary invite you in for a consultation. This practice is refreshing, professional, hard working and very caring. We couldn't be more pleased to be on their books. Thank you to all of the hard working staff there from Reception, Dispensary, Nurses to the GPs.

Accessed the Anima request platform and filled in the rather long questionnaire but had a fantastic same day response from the doctors here culminating in a prescription being ready to collect the same day, which was unexpected as the Anima site states that a response could take up to 3 days which is an unhelpful suggestion and proved to be so incorrect. I was sceptical about filling in a form on an app to request medical support but it was great as it saved waiting to speak to a receptionist, travelling to the surgery in these times of Covid and flu then sitting waiting to see the doctor. It proved to be a quick and very convenient way of getting treatment. I can see now how the Anima system works for those who are able to access and navigate the app and hopefully saves valuable time for patients as they don’t have to travel to the surgery unnecessarily and saves time for the surgery staff so they can deal with the increasing workload we here so much about. Thank you doctors for your kind and prompt attention.

Thank you again to this terrific GP, Pharmacy and front desk administration team who provided outstanding, effective and quick service during a period of high demand. As always this team is warm, compassionate and friendly and provided a rapid response after I used the Anima online e consult service. The response from the team was comprehensive, efficient and extremely kind. I feel particularly fortunate to have this GP surgery team and have every confidence that my queries will be treated professionally and always in a kind and supportive manner. I would finally just add that in my experience the e-consult service is super quick and extremely efficient. It is a new way of approaching the GP team but from my experience has only been incredibly positive. I am confident all my data are safe on this service. Thank you to all the terrific people at Fordingbridge GP Surgery and Pharmacy - the team provides outstanding service even during periods of high demand. Fordingbridge is very lucky to have this practice.
