Review titled Caring & considerate
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was trying to get a phone consultation for my son, who works shifts and has erratic hours. I was lucky enough to be assisted by the most helpful and welcoming receptionist. She was patient, talked me through the process and, with my son's permission, helped me fill in the necessary paperwork. Our needs were definitely met this morning & this Asian lady, I wish I knew her name, who also opened the surgery doors to let us in was efficient, kind and a real asset to the surgery. Full marks for patient care. Thank you, nice lady!

Review titled Shocking booking system
Rated 1 star out of 5

My 18 yr old daughter needed to see a GP about sudden onset of a UTI on Tuesday. She had to go through the online triage system and was sent an email a few hours later to book an appointment. The first appointment was Friday - 4 days later. She is in the middle of A Levels, was in a lot of pain and couldn't be seen for another 4 days? Outrageous. I paid for private GP services to help her. Goodness knows what state she would have been in if it had been left. It's never been easy to get an appointment but there always was the option to ring and get an end of day emergency appointment. Really poor and am looking to move surgeries - no wonder CQC rated inadequate.

Review titled Appointment letters
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Mehdi - Posted on 21 May 2024
I do not want to change my personal information. I am just requesting that my GP appointment letters to please be handed directly to me so I can give them to the nurse myself and to ensure I attend the appointment because I have missed some before. I would be more than grateful if you please do it this way. Please

The Dr I saw at the Groves on Friday was brilliant - just what a GP should be. Kind, considerate, empathetic and helpful. Just what I needed. Thank you.

Review titled Getting worse
Rated 1 star out of 5

Impossible to get an appointment. Was hoping that someone will get in touch following a letter from Royal Marsden saying that they can’t provide further care following cancer surgery that I had three years ago and I need to be referred elsewhere. The letter was received by the surgery six months ago. I am still waiting for a referral as I was advised that I need to be monitored for the next five years.

Review titled Difficult to book appointment

There should sufficient time allocated to meet a doctor. I couldn’t address all my concerns, even though she was very helpful. More time should be given to patients

Review titled Triage System
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Tish - Posted on 15 April 2024
The triage system is not fit for purpose. For the 4th time it has told me to go to A&E when due to the options I selected I was expecting to be offered an appointment in a week. I have no idea why

Wasn’t listen to. Didn’t explain anything, just fob off. Unbelievably bad. The new on line appointment booking is a joke!!!

Review titled Go to A&E and avoid waiting for appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mrs M - Posted on 28 May 2024
My advice is to go straight to A&E if you have a feeling that it could be something serious and don't waste your time trying to arrange a GP appointment! Recurring chest and arm pain was not taken seriously by a member of staff at the Groves who thought it was digestion related, and I ended up with a heart attack in A&E at Kingston Hospital a month later. I don't know if surgery staff are not as well trained in recognising symptoms in female patients? Also, the booking system is appalling: On the day of the heart attack, I was crying on the phone because I was desperate for a same day appointment after severe chest and arm pain during the night but the receptionist was refusing to give me one and told me to travel to Teddington Memorial hospital for the walk-in surgery. I felt utter disbelief how she could suggest that. After much begging and answering many questions, I got an appointment for the afternoon; the GP sent me straight to hospital where I had the heart attack after hours of waiting to be seen. In addition, I have concerns about the booking system questionnaire as the questions are not specific enough for female symptoms of heart problems which differ from men's.

Review titled bad practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

I got acute serious disease. However I only got 2 nurse appointments and one pharmacist appointment. Impossible to get doctor appointments. I had to spend significant moneys to see private GPs. And finally charged in hospital from a&e. I even need to use private GPs for my after-hospital care. Won’t trust this gp anymore. Considering to leave this gp now. I can see this gp is still taking new clients. They are oversubscribed.
