Review titled 10+ week wait for appointment and counting

Waited 10 weeks for appointment. Unable to attend due to work commitments. Explained that due to shift work, my availability varies from week to week and unable to leave work to attend due to nature of work and distance travelled. No option to rearrange to a suitable appointment. Appointment cancelled and put back on waiting list. Unsure how long I will have to wait to get another appointment, but high chance I will be at work and unable to attend. Receptionist unable to help. Poor service would not recommend to friends or family.

Trying to make an appointment for my elderly father with dementia. Three attempts to make an online appointment request this evening. First one told to dail 111, second attempt, cut off, third attempt, come back at 7.00am tomorrow. Telling my elderly mum , who already thinks no one cares that even the online service isn’t there to help.

Having waited more than 3 weeks for a call I received a text on the day of the call half way through the time slot To be told that the call was cancelled and a new appointment booked for 23 days time a phone call Is this the way we get around the 8 week being stopped?

After being referred here by a hospital there has been no action since November, to speed things along I even submitted a online request form to see a doctor explaining the situation. I was sent a text message saying that they will be in contact and they have received my request. A month went by without any contact, as I was tired of waiting I went into the practice to speak to someone regarding my concerns. They told me that they were in fact awaiting a response from me? But there had been no reply from them informing of any such concerns. I told them that everything was clear in my online form submission and there was nothing to feedback on. it’s been another 2 weeks and I still have no reply. I have every confidence that my correspondence has been lost within the system and I will not get the medical attention I need.

I recently attended with an urgent medical issue.The receptionist got a GP immediately and within minutes I was on my way to York Hospital with an immediate referral letter in hand.Fantastic service

Last week my partner needed to see a doctor. When contacting the surgery we were told you have to phone 111. We did this he was assessed and told he needed to be seen within 2 hours and phone back the surgery and tell them this! When contacting the surgery yet again. He was told he couldn’t be seen to go to urgent surgery at the hospital. The hospital themselves are very overstretched. All in all a terrible day and a terrible service!

Repeatedly this practise has done everything it can to avoid seeing it patients. I recently tested negative after a bout of Covid to then find I have excruciating pain in my kidneys during the night. Called 111 who said that I should go see my doctor urgently for an examination. Haxby group's response to my request was to come into the surgery to provide a urine sample. When I then asked if it was possible to see a doctor I received an automatic reply saying this "this contact has been closed and will not be seen by the Haxby Group. if you have a new query submit via our website" so much for putting patients first. This is isn't the first time either!. I am now resorting to registering at an alternative practise.

Filled in online form by 17.30 GP rang 17.49 was very attentive and helpful. Prescription done straightaway- just waiting for Pharmacy to let me know when it’s ready.

Having gone into the surgery to make a appointment , told by the receptionist you cannot make appointments anymore you have to call at 8 am when doing so you are put in a call queue of number thirteen as I am currently in employment I find it rather difficult to call at eight in the morning and wait in a queue for a hour , this is not the first time I have had a problem with your surgery the one before I waited six weeks for a call back then I had to make the call myself . Sorry but this service is just not good enough .ps I was absolutely shocked when the receptionist told me to go to walk in or hospital knowing full well the hospitals are at breaking point .

Suffering badly during menopause took years to get the courage up to ask for help, went to reception crying, asked for face to face, said 3 weeks time. Received a text 3 weeks later saying another 3 weeks. 8 weeks later got a phone appointment which was 3 hours late. Only good consolation is the Doctor was kind and understanding. I am leaving this sugery.
