  1. Review titled No access when disabled

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ugo - Posted on 20 June 2024

Practice is meant to record what adjustments are needed so that a disabled patient can communicate. Here doesn't do this. I have told them I can't use econsult and I can't phone. I wrote to my GP to explain. Reception staff told me I can't email and I should get someone to help me even though there isn't anyone. How do I get an appointment?

  2. Review titled Exemplary process!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Process from initial phone call to swift receipt of text and Doctor’s follow-up call was exemplary and path to required treatment reassuringly planned.

  3. Review titled 2 tiered system

by JStad - Posted on 22 June 2024

I have noticed the great reviews are all from people who seem to have no problem at all using a phone or are IT savvy. I would like to know why so many who can't do this still don't have a GP surgery that makes it easier for disabled patients. My brother has schizophrenia. He is meant to be monitored by the GP. He isn't because he can't manage online anything. Or even has a phone - that is very common for lots of people with severe mental illness. He got very physically unwell during the night and NHS 111 were called and it was agreed a next day urgent appointment was more better than an ambulance which would have frightened him. Long story short - neighbour tried to help him but on hold too long then cut off. I rang and told by the receptionist I couldn't speak on his behalf unless I am a registered carer. I emailed the surgery and got no reply because they haven't yet after all this time got an email system that lets disabled patients email. Or their family. Severe mental illness is a disability and I don't see any sign any staff at the surgery understand this. If they did why does this keep happening to people like my brother? And we can't even put on here the full story

  4. Review titled No continuity of care

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 June 2024

My mental health is bad and often unstable and very hard for me to manage and I need GP help and I can't get it and don't know how others are given appointments so easy. My prescription is sometimes wrong because blood tests don't get put on to the system in time. Receptionists dont know enough to decide if urgent. I used to see my GP monthly I have been in hospita l for my mental health. I don't get to see any GP . I am meant to have an appointment after coming out of hospital for a GP but for 3 times never happened so tne medication the hospital says I need stops. I have said this to reception lots of times and I ask for a GP lots of times and there aren't appointments for me. It's also very hard to get through the online form doesn't cover serious mental ill-health I have to borrow a phone but they do callback so that doesn't work. The reception tell me only GP approved patients can email but I have not seen a GP I only use email in my life. I wish they did email mental health is disability they should do email. I feel very alone.

  5. Review titled Poor experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by BCm - Posted on 28 June 2024

I don't have problems using phones or Internet but have found it absolutely impossible to get anything needed to be sorted Reception staff are so inconsistent. In one day alone told me there were appts, then there weren't, I was on the duty Dr list, then I wasn't. Tried for 8 days running to get an appt going forward. Impossible. Told to ring 111 who told me the GP should be seeing. But no appointments. I email and sent reports from the hospital because reception say there's no record of clinic letters. Twice done and still not on records. Prescription wrong so many times. Triage by reception far too many times and if I say I need to see a Dr I don't think a receptionist should say you can see a nurse or other person instead. So stressful How hard is it to sort out the basics

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was provided with very good information regarding my recent tests. I was told of each different result and advised of ways to reduce the levels that i am currently at and potential ways to reduce the levels.

  8. Review titled Poor experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Kel - Posted on 31 May 2024

Certain reviews on here do not accord with my elderly mother's experience. She has dementia, is deaf and often immobile. She hasn't been able to use a phone in ages. Often she can't get to the surgery. I call up to try and get her seen and mostly told there are no GP appointments. Offered a nurse instead. Told to call back another time. Told she had to call herself ( which I know is incorrect). She's been housebound for over 3 months following a fall. I have asked for a home visit but there is never one available. I am again told to call another time. I don't live close by. The carers call me saying she needs to see a GP. District nurses need the GP to refer . What has happened to this surgery? It was once very good. I am sure there are good GPs there but the system favours younger able less complex patients.

Got a non-urgent appointment with my GP of preference at a week's notice. He was thorough, efficient and friendly and listened carefully and prescribed as necessary. Always a good experience from the practice
