Overall, it was very refreshing to see a doctor F2F and at my old surgery at Wharf Rd. The Doctor was genuine and showed sympathy and concern. In the recent past the Sheepmarket surgery docs are generally locums there to sign prescriptions. Once I was told my 15 mins was up and it was time to leave. The Sheepmarket Surgery seem in my opinion to have lost their purpose and as soon as your enter the door or into a phone conversation, you can’t help but feel their defensive tone instead of receiving adequate care or compassion. I’m sure that there are some whom try hard and others that try to follow that example but the fact that there are new faces each time you enter points to a high turnover of staff Let’s face the facts, the growing population of Stamford are angry with the inadequacy of care given by Lakeside Stamford, the staff at the surgery are on the end of that wrath and who wants to be faced with that on a daily basis? Please spend more time seeing the public instead of fending them off!

The clinicians with Lakeside Stamford work across the two surgeries, so the same clinician's you see at St Marys surgery, you will also see at the Sheepmarket surgery. Dr was very dour and seemed an effort to smile. Made me feel like I wanted to bolt straight out of the door. A friendly smile is not much to ask? I know they are under stress but surely a smile is essential for relaxing the patient?

This was my first face to face contact with a general practitioner since my return to this country almost 2 years ago. I prefer face to face contact as this is the traditional way in mainland Europe and helps to build up a rapport. My experience on this occasion was extremely positive. The doctor was punctual, attentive, supportive, generous with her time and very helpful. I received a first class service.

Took 4 days to get an appointment for severe back pain. Could not understand what doctor saying. Asked about ear problem whilst there and was told to make another appointment for that. After some convincing the doctor did check my ears to find I had infection. Doctor wrote prescription for back pain relief but didn't want to give me anything for ear infection, saying again that I would have to book another appointment. Eventually I was prescribed something.

Nice atmosphere and helpful staff and a very caring G.P. it may be a challenge to get an appointment but when you do you are treated well.

First receptionist @sheepmarket very helpful. Second was lacking compassion. The doctor I saw was very helpful and polite 10out 10 for him

I called at 10.40am - I was 13th in the queue and waited 20 mins. I explained that I was seeking pain relief for recurring excruciating muscular back pain. It wasn't considered urgent enough for Lakeside - not for a same day appointment or even a telephone / online review - I was offered an appointment in 3 days time. Now in the current scheme of things, 3 days is probably not that bad - but if you're in severe pain you need help now. And we wonder why A&E is full to bursting point?
