  2. Review titled Special Measures Required Without Delay

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 March 2023

Cant get an appointment even for the next 4 weeks, there was a total of 5 Emergency Appointments available on the day I called. For a surgery covering large parts of a town of 93,300 (accordingly to the Office of National Statistics in 2021) - A Total Disgrace. Notwithstanding being cut off over again, calling at 08.00 and being told your number 25 in the cue. The infrastructure has Failed and this is supposedly a new surgery. It was Outdated before it began. Something needs to change, the fact the surgery appear to be reading these messages and it remains incompetent adds further weight to the feedback.

  3. Review titled Diligent and helpful Doctors

Rated 4 stars out of 5

It’s a busy practice, so it’s sometimes difficult to obtain an appointment for routine matters. However, I have found the service to be very good, with very helpful, diligent and competent Doctors.

  4. Review titled Terribly rude doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 March 2023

I was given an appointment at 9.15 for a doctor to see my 5 month old baby. On arrival the doctor was abrupt and rude she questioned why I gave my teething daughter calpol that day and looked at me in utter disgust that I had done so. I was so shocked that she asked me why I gave my child calpol that my partner had to answer for me. I wasn’t there to be questioned I was there to check on the health of my baby which she was totally uninterested in doing. These people are supposed to make us feel at ease and comfortable. This doctor did not.

  5. Review titled Practice review

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Derek Barlow - Posted on 17 February 2023

The reception staff and nurse were very helpful and friendly . They were very efficient and gave me all the information I needed . However, when ordering repeat prescriptions online, there are ALWAYS problems i.e. at least one item I have ordered does NOT get sent to the pharmacy causing me to have to query it with the surgery, after which it is. This is extremely stressful for me. I have prostate cancer and I am asthmatic. I would appreciate it if measures were taken to put this right

  6. Review titled Face to Face with the diabetic nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Ward - Posted on 28 February 2023

I arrived and was seen at the appointment time. The nurse was very friendly and put me at ease. She went through the blood test results with me and explained the readings. She was very helpful and very professional! I had a blood pressure test which was ok. All aspects of my condition she explained clearly and answered any questions I had. I was very satisfied with the nurse and her positive attitude ! Lister Medical Centre is a good practice, but there is room for improvement with being able to see a doctor, it is sometimes difficult to get an appointment, hopefully this will improve !

  7. Review titled Used to be a reasonable practice but now failing

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Sam Wills - Posted on 24 February 2023

Visited the practice in person to book a face to face routine appointment. Told I couldn't have one, had to be a phone call instead. Booked two weeks in advance. Day came, got a text to cancel my appointment and told it was being rescheduled for seven day's time. Here I am, 1hr and 40mins past the appointment time, still waiting! Phoned to ask what's going on, only to be told 'times aren't given for on the day appointments' - pointed out that mine isn't an on the day appointment, it was booked three weeks previously but I'm still told to sit and wait as 'the doctor is on her last three calls of the morning and you are on the list'. It really isn't good enough. I specifically booked well ahead so I didn't get caught up in all this 'appointments on the day' rubbish. We are waaaaay post pandemic - doctor's surgeries should be getting back to how they operated before the shutdown.

  8. Review titled Awful practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kelly Peck - Posted on 18 November 2022

My 70 year old mum was sent a appointment for the doctors for today which although she was sick with a nasty chest infection and cough she went to thinking they would be able to help her, how wrong she was, the appointment was only to check her blood pressure which she wasn't told about before the appointment and even though she was coughing her lungs up and in pain with the chest infection the nurse wouldn't help her, mum ask could she please see a doctor then and was told no..go home and call 111, or report to the hospital. No doubt the trip out today in the cold didn't help her situation and she doesn't have the energy to sit for hours at the hospital and on top of being ill resk getting covid again. I understand that you have your way of doing things but when a 70 year old asthma suffer with a chest infection and painful cough arrives at your practice I would have thought you would have at lest tried to help her.

  10. Review titled Dysfunctional contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 November 2022

Have to compliment, care received but I have a regular need to contact and this is where practice is dysfunctional. Phone lines are regularly so busy you cannot even join the queue and visiting to speak with reception is also extremely busy with the patients queuing outside. I work, I should be able to contact surgery when required and this is just not possible. Be ashamed as there is nothing to be proud of the way the practice is managed

Dear anonymous patient Thank you for taking the time to write your review on our services. Firstly, thank you very much for the feedback on the care you have received at the practice. We are very happy that you are pleased with this aspect. I am sorry that you have had difficulty in accessing services via phone and at the reception desk with long queues. The practice is very busy and the reception team do their best to see and speak to patients as quickly as they can. However, I understand it is frustrating for you. I would like to reassure you that we are working very hard on improving our telephone services with new functionality which will be implemented in the coming weeks. We have also now recruited many more reception team members and we are training these colleagues up a the moment. Thank you for your review. If you would like to join our patient group who work with us to help guide and shape services, please do not hesitate to contact us on contact.lister@nhs.net Thank you again.
