I did not see a GP. Waited almost an hour. No explanation for delay until I went and cancelled the consultation.

Dear Mrs. Russell I do understand your frustration at having to wait over 50 minutes for your appointment with the doctor and I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. I am also sorry that you weren't kept informed of the delay. Unfortunately, the ten minutes allotted to each single appointment can only ever be an estimation on our part. Some patients may require barely five minutes while others may need twenty-five minutes or more and this is not something we can foresee in advance. Occasionally the doctor’s surgery may be interrupted by having to deal with an emergency and this can cause long delays. The doctors try hard to address each patient’s needs and this would not always be possible if they stuck rigidly to the ten-minute allocation. I have a team meeting with the reception team next week and I will ensure that they are reminded of the importance of updating patients about clinics that are running late. The doctor was very good. He asked lots of questions and explained what medicine I should be given. He asked to see me again in one month to check that the medicine was working.

The doctor responded within a day and made a very supportive and helpful call. He allayed my fears and guided me sensitively through the period while my medication took effect.

I have always found the Doctors at the Medwyn to be above average competence. You may not always see the same one, but they are all of a certain standard Very happy, thanks to all the staff!

The on line facilities work extremely well, for health enquiries, appointments and prescription needs. Quick and appropriate responses in each of my 3 most recent approaches. Prompt appointments with appropriate health professionals, prompt action to address concerns and referrals to relevant resources beyond the surgery when required. Practitioners facility for listening, enquiring into concerns and talking through them, second to none. I invariably receive first class professional service from Medwyn and would highly rate and recommend the practice.

The doctor I was booked in to see was running very late. I didn’t mind because it means he’s being thorough and giving more time to his patients. Really disappointed that when booking recommended tests there was a three week wait for blood, ECG and BP checks.

Thank you for letting us know your experience of Medwyn. I'm sorry to hear that you had to wait an unusually long time to be seen and for the follow up investigations. It is very unusual to have to wait that long for those investigations and we would normally expect to be able to provide an appointment within 5 working days. Of course, if there are specific times of the day required, then there may be a longer wait for those appointments. We do keep an audit of patient wait times and discuss these as a team to look at ways we can improve.
