Other than the phone system, which is dreadful, I can't fault the practice. Top marks ! The doctors are lovely as are the nurses. Most of the receptionist are also really great. Very helpful and friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. The good news is that our phone system is going to be upgraded in March and this should bring about considerable improvements. We try to encourage patients to use the online request portal on the website rather than to call the surgery as they will receive a quick response and the telephone lines can be left available for those who are unable to access the internet. I wish my doctors were closer to where I live but I would never change! Even though there is a different practice here. Medwyn Surgery has been the best experience for my health. The staff are kind, compassionate and understanding. They don’t treat you like a number but like a human being which is everything.

My GP takes care of my health without even being asked. I appreciate this hugely. This a a most efficient and friendly practice with a very high level of patient care.

Having seen lovely nurse for general medical review, my gp face to face was organised in line with a pre booked bloods test and ecg , to cover all bases and left me feeling nurtured, valued as a patient and at all appointments that my health and well-being was and is a priority to the practice. My symptoms could have been explained away as exhaustion from battling with a demanding work role and balancing with complex caring for a family with many needs , but staff in the practice empowered me to ask for help . They didn’t make me feel like a failure for needing reassurance and bolstered my achievements against the odds of my own mental health history. Unlike my work environment ( teaching) I feel genuinely cared for by Medwyn practice and my recent visits have made me realise I’m not “ bothering them “ if I have health worries.

Initial contact is made by filling out a request online . Answers are alway prompt/timely according to request . Communication to offer the appropriate appointment by which ever means is always quick , I generally do not wait longer than a day to resolve my request. Staff always helpful and polite and give good explanations and reason for any delays. Doctors : professional, knowledgeable , empathetic and very approachable. I feel very privileged to be a patient if this surgery , especially when comparing the service I get compared to friend dotted around the area and further a field . Thank you to all at Medwyn

Please can a text reminder for a phone appointment mention that it is a phone consultation as at present they show that appointment is at surgery

We are aware that the text reminders can cause confusion as they only state that there is an appointment, not whether it is face to face or by telephone. The reminders get sent out automatically by the appointment software and we are working with the providers to try and see if it is possible to get a different message sent for different appointment types.
